Members cm01 Posted October 25, 2010 Members Share Posted October 25, 2010 ***SOLD*** If you're after a mint guitar then stop reading now, this one's been gigged and has a fair few dings and marks, mainly on the top. The previous owner also drilled 3 holes in the back and the neck where he tried out new strap button positions - I've filled them in and touched them up with black nail varnish but they're still very visible - no doubt a decent luthier could do a much better job but it's never bothered me. The neck itself is perfect with the exception of one tiny ding on the fret board and one on the back of the neck. It plays and sounds superb - I had the 5 way rotary switch changed to a 3 way toggle / coil tap on the tone pot setup, which has made changing pickups much easier when gigging - the wiring kit was a top quality job. It's currently set up with a very low action - they guy who installed the wiring loom tweaked it without asking me - it's a little too low for my tastes, I like it a bit higher with a little bit of fight, but it plays beautifully and has tons of sustain. The neck profile is Wide / Fat. Pickups are the original Dragons which sound great, allegedly better than the Dragon II's but I couldn't comment on that. It's not a 10 top but there's plenty of flame present - in direct light it really lights up - it looks a diffrerent colour depending upon the light - not sure what the official PRS colour is but I'd guess at 'Black Cherry'. Very playable, lovely twangy sound, get's that kinda Grizzly Bear sound into a slightly driven amp with reverb. Tremolo works and includes the original arm (this is very unusual!). Probably a Kawai, but it's hard to tell. Pots and switches a little crackly, but generally okay. Plays really nice, but it's got a really thick neck. Cab sounds sensational and has been used in a variety of rigs. Only going because im downsizing to a smaller combo. Mint condition. Great modern sounding distortion pedal, does everything from crunch to pretty high gain, takes boosts really well. Upgraded the crappy stock Sovtek valve to a Tung-Sol gold pin, really changed the character of the distortion. A little crackle on turning the "mid" knob, easily solved with some compressed air.
