Members mikeSF
did you scramble some eggs on your amp? seriously, animal fat is hard to get out of anything and definitely stinks when it goes rancid - how bout aiming a heat gun or hair dryer at the fretboard to melt the fat then absorb it into paper towels? dont get too hot or the frets will release but hey, that just may be best anyhow then you can sand the whole thing and re-fret it. Members valentsgrif
Start with a mild degreaser: Fantastik or diluted dishwasher soap. Let dry. Smell. If good get some lemon oil on there. If the smell continues, try the lighter fluid, or a spray degreaser like brake cleaner.

Members Surfdude
Sell your bacon fat smelling neck on ebay and when the poor sap complains about the smell just say that it wasn't like that when it left your house. Then take most of the money you made and buy a Carvin neck. Surfy
Members bourikaldo
lighter fluid wiped on the fretboard should help Much better than lemon. Plus, if this doesn't work you can put the 'board on fire.

Members strtdv
If its a maple board then its pretty much sealed and you can use washing up liquid or whatever on it (but use a damp cloth, not a soaking wet one). If its rosewood and its gone down into the grain then i really have no idea how you're going to get it out. Try all of the above. Or you could leave it until it decomposes away.. Members digitalpussi
I think we need details.. Did you just rub a piece of raw bacon on your fretboard and strings. Or did you at least render the fat out by cooking the bacon first?
