Members B-Bottom
Do people actually like them? I want an explorer style bass in the worst way. Epi Explorers are hard as hell to find and seem over-priced when you finally do come across one. So I've been looking at the Deans because if nothing else maybe they would be a good platform for mods. But those damn headstocks are just so horrific looking that I just can not justify buying one. The one's from the 80's weren't bad. But now they are just retarded. Am I alone in thinking they are really really stupid looking?
Members Bass8987
I personally can't stand Dean instruments. I did play a Hamer explorer like this years ago at GC and it sounded good (it was pretty cheap too, IIRC). I have no idea if Hamer still makes these or not. Members perrydabassman
I agree with you. Their headstocks are BUTT UGLY. That alone precluded me ever picking one up.

Members bassthumpintwin
Personally, I've always SLIGHTLY preferred the looks of the Jackson Kelly bass... Slightly different, but still similar IMO At least the headstock looks halfway normal.

Members Rocknrumble
I don't mind the headstock shape on other models, but I hate it on the Z. However, I too have never liked Dean, so I'm holding out for either the Hamer Standard or Jackson Kelly, neither of which are too common.
Members dedpool1052
don't really care fore the headstocks, although it does look alright on the one pictured. kinda reminds me of the alembics john entwistle use to play.
Members Kerouac
Love the headstock and love Deans. I'd had a Dean Edge in the past and still own a Dean Dao Acoustic and a late-90's V Select...
Members SB900LE
the headstock on my Dean Razor NT isn't that bad . . . okay, not that great either but better than the modern style V thing

Members ToeJamFootball
I don't understand why they have to put it on so many of their guitars/basses. Save it for the Dime model IMO, it looks good on that and that's about it.

Members hi.flyer
I agree they look dumb. It SORTA makes sense aesthetically on the V models but even then, I still don't like it.
