What electric "hotel rig" would you get with a $200 budget??

Why not just get a travel acoustic?

I already suggested an unplugged electric (so Dr. Scottie doesn't disturb other hotel guests) and that went nowhere. I doubt your suggestion will get serious consideration either, although it has merit.

Unplugged electric would be ok if I can't find a suitable headphone amp situation. Buck's suggestion has merit, but I am an 100% electric player.

Which way you leaning? korg..fender...

I see Ibanez has this Mikro line. They are small versions.

Don't think I could play a small version, but they do get good reviews,

This one is cool,

and with the memorial day coming up you might get a 20% coupon.

Since I am such a strat guy...that has to have that 9.5 radius (tried a 12" radius Peavey today and it felt crappy)....and everyone on my local CL wants $150 for ragged out Squiers that look like they have been drug behind a semi..... I may just grab one of these: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/squier-bullet-strat-with-tremolo

I have a nice pair of headphones, and then maybe this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/vox-amplug-ac30-headphone-amp

Or maybe: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Korg-Pandora-Mini-Multi-Effects-Guitar-Effect-Pedal-Brand-New-/310989320325?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item4868687085 ...a used one.

This should put me well below my $200 budget.

I don't know if you're still looking but there's a Johnson Strat style on your local Craigslist going for $50. From what I can find it should have a 10" radius: http://limaohio.craigslist.org/msg/4539707418.html.

The seller just had it tuned.

Like it's a car and you just had a tune-up done on it. New spark plugs and wires too.

Now it's good for another 50,000 miles. :eatdrink048:

A Steinberger Spirit GT and anything you wish to plug into the end of it to make the level of noise you want.

Yeah, they are a bit more than $200, but so is life. Look for used.

But they are small, sturdy and have pretty damn good action. Their tone is subjective. You could also whack someone with one if need be without the guitar suffering any functional detriment.
