Members hempathy
Who needs plastic, we can use uhhhh...... hmmmm bio-polymers. People complain about the price of gasoline, little do they realise that the price of oil effects everything from the price of food to the price of consumer electronics. Its amazing how much oil is now used in farming. 60 kjoules of oil energy is used to produce 1 kjoule of food energy. Its ludicrious. That has went up from a ratio of 1 to 1 in the last 40 years. Its not how are we going to run our cars when the oil finally runs out, how the hell are we going to feed the ever growing pop?

It's still a net energy loss and does little for emissions. I think we'd be just as well off with turbine powered cars that can run off of anything from dirty dishwater to kerosene to Absolute vodka to jet fuel. One problem here is even at stops your burning as much fuel as you would going 85 mph. And thats why it is really hard to give a crap about anything other than just living life right now. It's way too cold around here anyway and I could use some beachfront property near my house.
Members BryanMichael
Originally posted by booher One war was waged in Afghanistan. Please note: {censored}ing Afghanistan. Mountains and sand. No oil. Yeah- and we actuallly had a legitimate REASON to wage that war didn't we? Their government was supporting the people that ATTACKED the U.S. Have you forgotten? Have you forgotten that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11? NOW- b ack to Iraq....what was our reason again?? WMD? Imminent threat? these were the reasons. "Possible link to Al-Qaida?" How many times did our president say this? Even after Bush admitted that "there was no link between Iraq and 9/11" Cheney (the next day!) was still flying that banner "possible (probable) link to Al Qaida" This war is about oil, it's about redrawing the lines on the map in our favor, it's about alot of things- all of them economically motivated political moves. The key word is "economically motivated" It's about money when you strip it all away.

"Nazi" = "National Socialist German Workers Party." And yes, we killed that too. But where's that Rove indictment? Does this oil propaganda have a better basis in fact than that story? Or the Dan Rather forged documents? Or Global Warming or Socialism or second-hand smoke? Man, you guys will believe anything . . . . . . well, anything that's anti-American, anti-Capitalist or anti-balls.
