Members LR Weizel
It's always the same blues or classic rock wank over and over. I'm getting really tired of it... I admit my own inventiveness when it comes to guitar isn't great and I often fall back on that too... but this is probably why.

Members The Great Waldo Pepper
Total F'ing spam follows (if one is a cynical bastardo). But this video we made is hardly blues/classic rock.
Members Drifter182
while I am a fan of new, interesting pedal demos, I also think that classic rock kind of stuff is still relevent so you can get an idea of how close the pedal might sound to so-and-so music
Members WWW
I hear you man. Problem is, most modern music has it's foundations in this music and it's more widely accepted in the mainstream. Plus, it's just easier to throw down a blues lick instead of composing something original for a pedal demo. Could pedal demos be more original? Sure. Members LR Weizel
My favourite Demos are generally Lowwood's of Devi's stuff. I really like those.
Members SharkMinusBear
I try to make my pedals demos somewhat original sounding, but the problem with demos is that you usually just want to lay something down quickly and hit save, which means more blues licks and whatnot. Members LR Weizel
I guess not. But there's plenty of stuff to rip off that isn't blues wank.
Members t-rey
That sounded {censored}ing great. Is this going to be a foundation type pedal ala the DLS?
Members LR Weizel
All pedals are starting to sound the same to me now A lot of this is down to the awful quality of Youtube demos... you can't tell the differnce anyway since the low and high end is lost... all you can tell is how much mids it has. Sometimes.

Members LR Weizel
Well that one has plenty of low end. Unfortunately I don't really need another Bassy Fuzz.

Members guitargod2u
I'll second the way you tube makes some pedals sound good/bad when they are not. I bought a blackstar HT high gain tube pedal played it for about 2 hours only to get metal zone sounds out of it.... and yes i a/b it with a stock metal zone. fastest return i ever made
Members Burg
More Spam (of self). But there's not much classic rock or blues going on in these.. A little bit in this.. And none at all in this. In fact the only pedal I used in this one was a Semaphore over the Thingamagoop synth. The space bubbles effect. Cool as. My other 112 videos are all riddled with the dreaded blues and classic rock. It's a hard monkey to shake.

Sometimes. That is why you have to get into the music shops and try out the gear YOURSELF! I will say though that I wish effect pedal demos would include tests with distorted tones as well as clean tones. And I mean some full-on high gain CRUNCH! Play some riffs, not just weedly-meedly-weedly.
Members LR Weizel
They don't sell anything like the SCOD here in Ireland. I saw one in London along with a bunch of Devi's pedals but I was only there briefly and didn't have a chance to try it out.
