Members Johansolo
been struck by random phaser gas... the only phaser ive owned is the EHX small stone, which was a long time ago.i dont really like the phase sound, but for a subtle effect on cleans strumming ie the clean rhythm in richie kotzens "doing what the devil says to do" ive had the nano stone over at my place for repairs for a friend, and i quite liked it. compact, simple and true bypass. any other suggestions i should look at for subtle phasers?kits BYOC/GGG mxr phase 90 etc...? Members deeohgee
Yeah, check out a univibe. I dont really like phasers, got a great deal on a Moog which is an awesome phaser but flipped it for a vibe. Happiness....

Members tlbonehead
The mini Dano Pepperoni Phaser is a good basic phase tone. Sorry about the out of tune E string. Members cryptosonic
yea came in here to suggest a vibe, Wilsons new offering is reasonable priced. The Danos get some praise but apparently have minor issues.

Members artoo
The 1974 MXR Phaser is awesome. I use this plus a mojovibe on my board because I love it so much. You can always have analogman or someone else mod it true bypass etc if that stuff bothers you. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/MXR-CSP026-Handwired-1974-Vintage-Phase-90-Pedal?sku=158496
Members CapnMarvel
The Deluxe Moon Phaser does a killer subtle phase/vibe sound $300 seems pretty ridiculous for someone who doesn't really like phase tone to spend on a phaser to do subtle tones. :poke:Get a frigging '74 Phase 90 and put it on slow. Members Fender&EHX4ever
ive had the nano stone over at my place for repairs for a friend, and i quite liked it. compact, simple and true bypass. One of the greatest budget pedals of all time, and hard to beat. I'd stick with that if you liked it to begin with.
Members bowlingshirt
The Retrosonic Phaser is based on the phase 90 and has a depth knob so you can dial it down.
Members J.D. Salinger
The Phase 100 is quite different compared to other Phasers and IMO, can cop pretty decent Vibe like tones.

Members Gunner Recall
If you really hate phaser you'll want something with fewer (or selectable) stages, and a depth/blend knob and possibly feedback/res/regen. Usually those are only found on more expensive units. If you're sticking with the big names, I don't find the small stone to be all that subtle...you may fair better with one of mxr's phasers. Came in here to rep the Phase 100. Great pedal - highly underrated and very versatile.
Members imbuedblue
Since you're not really a fan of phasers, I'd suggest the MXR Phase 45. The effect is subtler than most phasers due to only having two stages.
Members Beastly
Had the Block logo MXR, EVH 90 and Whetstone. I like phase so whetstone for me, but i was always happy with my block logo 90. EVH 90 sucked...didn't sound as good on or off as the block. Members SonicVI
I like the old Ibanez PT-909 Phase Tone. It's a four stage phaser sinilar in design to the Phase 90 but with depth and feedback knobs. It can do very subtle phasing which is what I like about it.
