Members tom92
[video=youtube;qBy1NUHi1I8] Title says it all. The Airborne Toxic Event have some pretty depressing lyrics but are a great band. Dan Mangan can be a bit depressing [video=youtube;Bm-fhmES8Gs] Most of my music is a bit depressing...kinda sums me up really.

Members Slow_Life
Beautiful melancholy song is beautiful and melancholy. Sun Kil Moon often make me feel someone is walking on my grave, but I'm not sure that in itself is depressing. Here's a fun one from my youth: [video=youtube;c6hO2Tb1oEs]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6hO2Tb1oEs
Members TheCardiacKid
Without a doubt the most depressing band is Red House Painters. Edit: mhuxtable, Sun Kil Moon was basically on uppers compared to RHP. I do love Mark Kozelek's creativity in both bands though. Simple writing style but beautiful or haunting lines that phase in and out throughout the songs.

Members JMR
I'm seeing a distinct lack of American Football or The Hated in this thread. Both of them redefined depressing music as we know it. [video=youtube;VG9VhC0hiTg] [video=youtube;BB2YjkYf4o4] [video=youtube;O-2X-a721iY] Oh, and Boilermaker has some sad tunes.[video=youtube;2mt0RjTuMjk] if you haven't noticed yet, I'm very into 1980s/90s emo. Members arcaneaether
[video=youtube;kcRRhamQasg]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcRRhamQasg This movement is especially recommended, but the whole symphony is a wonderful piece of nihilistic expression. [video=youtube;sKK0BAZmRjY] To me, this music is a perfect summation of "reality". I'm not sure what that means though. It's still wonderfully melancholic. [video=youtube;mkuIT0fBNw8] [video=youtube;xXEPPpLMONk] Burial really is one of the greatest artists to express this emotion perfectly.
