In Vegas right now. Seeing The Beatles 'love' tonight. Have some magic with me. Should be a hoot. Will let y'all know how it goes.

Sounds like fun. Definitely post about how awesome it was. Are you guys staying for a few days or just tonight for the show?

I haven't seen Love or O yet, but I saw Ka at the MGM. Amazing. I saw the Blue Man Group at the Venetian and that was great fun. Fountains at Bellagio are a must - and often through the evening as it changes every 20 minutes or so with a different song (Sinatra's Luck Be A Lady is my fav).

The show was definitely awesome. My wife got us seats in the 'crowd participation' area too so that was fun. I think next time I see it (or any other cirque show) I'll do so without the LSD (it would have been gnarly enough without it). I will say though I've never had such a gnarly cool audio/visual assault as I did walking through Casinos, and taking the Taxi ride over to the Mirage from the Stratosphere. THAT was worth the trip alone. 'Love' was just icing on the cake. We were there for Wednesday and Thursday night, drove home yesterday after about 2 hours of sleep.

Also, for those of you that have taken LSD, here's the entrance to the show:

Sounds rad. I assume that you would recommend the show? I can only imagine how intense Vegas would be on psychedelics.

Thanks - I will give that a watch when a get a chance.

I knew you couldn't resist coming back to this thread. Thinking about how awesome Vegas is. Convincing yourself that you need to go back

In other news - one of my coworkers saw me checking out hotels online and asked if I was going to gamble while I was there. His response was literally 'That's cool man, it should be pretty easy to win enough money to cover the trip.':lol:

I was in Vegas last week for work. You'll get your fill in three days fo sure.

If you want to stay in a super classy hotel just a block off the strip (quiet at night, no casino), check out the Trump Hotel. Scored for $110 a night, and your woman will love it.

Amazing prime rib at Delmonicos Steakhouse in the Venetian (great dining experience, spendy...but what isn't in Vegas). Buy her a nice bottle of red and these two items are sure to get your freak on.

He speaks the truth. That is how the casinos stay in business and are able to keep building giant towers... by giving away money to cover people's trips!

The concept of Vegas just sickens me. An entire city devoted to human pleasure. Yuck. That being said, I saw the Beatles Love show stoned out of my mind and ate a killer meal and that was all. I'm never ever going back. Well maybe, MAYBE I'll go back. The only way I'm ever returning to Vegas is if I have around $20,000 to blow on the casinos and hookers and coke.

Didn't know that the Bellagio fountains changed songs - that's pretty cool. I am strongly considering one of the fountain view rooms at Planet Hollywood right now. Of course, that will probably change next week.

We are still torn about what show we should go see. The Beatles is probably more of our thing, but it almost seems mandatory to go see a Cirque du Soleil show.

fyi, love is a cirque du soleil show.

How did you feel about staying in a hotel without a casino? I have been looking at the Vdara as well, but don't know if I would feel like something was missing by not having a casino in the hotel.

Unless you plan on staying up all night gambling, it's nice to get off thie strip for down time IMO. I hate walking off the elevator first thing in the morning, hungover as hell, to the noise, chaos and smoke of casinos...at least until I've had my own coffee and nicotine.

These are all reasonable points.

My current obsessions are the Planet Hollywood Towers because I'm am just white trashy enough to be completely enamored by an in room jacuzzi. The other is the Cosmopolitan because you can get rooms with a terrace that overlook the Bellagio fountains.

Side note - the wife and I were talking about the trip the other night and we got on the topic of gambling and how much I intend to take. I just threw out $300 as a low number that would be an acceptable answer (then slip in a few hundo more while we were there). This was apparently a completely unacceptable answer for her - she didn't care, since it's something I want to do, but just couldn't grasp the concept of gambling with "that amount of money." I asked what she thought was a good amount to take. She said "I dunno, like 20 bucks"

Good to hear.

Only if we can bring one of the animal people back to the room with us
:cop:

Love is most likely the show we will see. But out of curiosity - what's your favorite show?

Buy 20 lottery tickets instead.

Love if you are into the Beatles. Its a great show with good music. If you just want a flat out amazing show that costs a lot, O is the way to go. There really is nothing like it. But that being said, I enjoyed Love, and probably moreso because my gf likes the Beatles.

Tough call really...

From those clips I think O looks really cool and surreal. Love is probably the best option for me and my wife - she might not dig the really surreal stuff, but would be down with some of that while the Beatles are playing. Is there a ton or crazy trapeze acrobatic stuff in Love, or is it (hopefully) more focused on the music?

Its focused on the music, but basically they've taken the music and will lead you on a journey through the beatles lives and tunes. Lots to talk about after the show "what did this mean, who did that represent."

You'll love it.
