Members Mediterranean
The following is only 10 frames per second and watch how freaking fast. So imagine what it would have looked/sounded like at one trillion frames a second. The human eye wouldn't even be able to hear or see {censored}. So conclusion about the vid above: holy {censored}. Members Purity_Control
In Europe, nobody gives a chit, lolol. There's a huge number of cases of people being stopped by police for taking photos or film in public places, usually under anti-terrorist legislation, even if it's stuff they could have got from google street view, and particularly if they happen to look like they might be moslem. Seems to be very much the British way at this point in time for there to be a huge gulf between laws and the way that they're implimented, sadly. eg Sellafield nuclear site terror arrests made Those guys were all later released without charge. Members KingVidiot
Thanks all. Except for the Water Strider they were all shot on my iPod Touch with extra lenses. I'm too lazy to carry my D300 everywhere.
Members Mediterranean
lol KingVidiot, what do you mean you're a sucker at panoramas? That looks awesome. It just needs to be a little bigger. I also like how you know the name of those insects you photograph. But I think you should use your Nikon more. An iPod is no match PurityControl, there's also a fantastic macro shot taken by deanmass on the previous page [dragobfly porn]. lol
Members Mediterranean
These are the only photos of insects I have. Taken last August with a point-and-shoot camera. I added more sharpness & contrast in Photoshop.

The photo is much bigger, but I scaled it to fit the window since some folks complain about large pics. The Nikon is fine, but I can't take it everywhere, and some of these shots would not have been impossible with such a large camera in a small animal container. The iPod size is just right. If I had an iPhone 4s it would be even better with the better cam. The iPod camera sucks until you use external lenses. Therein lies the magic. I have several iPod/iPhone lenses: macro, wide angle, fisheye, 8x telephoto, and microscope with light which replaces my DinoLite USB pen microscope. All of it fits in a small bag in my pocket. Nice dragonfly pics by the way. My recent experience in Yosemite chasing dragonflies was a mess. Damselflies are much slower and calmer.
Members Mediterranean
lol king, I was just lucky when I took those shots. The poor critter was either dying or already dead. I don't think I wouldv'e gotten the camera lens that close otherwise.

Members Mediterranean
It's interesting what you can discover with macro photography. Looks like initials. Perhaps those of the designer of the penny?

Members KingVidiot
Looks like it's Frank Gasparro, the Chief Engraver of the US Mint and designer of the Lincoln Memorial reverse.http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_f_g_mean_on_a_pennyTry looking at the memorial center in macro. You can actually see a small Abe Lincoln in there.
