Members Berserker22
I'm interested in a AC30 w. Alnico Blues. I'm having reservations about buying anything put together in China however. I'd like to drop Bush's so-called present back into the economy by buying American. What boutique maker builds the best AC30 clones. I've searched, but haven't found much. Thanks guys. Members Boltino
Top Hat makes some great "voxish" amps. Valvetech, as previously mentioned, would also be a great choice.

Members Boltino
The Blue series VOX Valvetronix amps mocks a AC 30 and AC15 to the tee -1 I've never found a valvetronix to be close to that edge-of-breakup chime that comes from a true Vox. IMHO, of course.
Members BIGRED60NOLA
dr z not exactly vox, but really good el84 powered amps. try some of the mesa el84 amps, they have a bit more grit aside from the midrange grit that is typical of vox amp distortion characteristics
Members TomCTC
Either Dr. Z or Valvetech.
Members Jarick
On a humorous note, the Top Hat website boasts the Club series as having great tone without spending thousands of dollars, but they list between $1800 and $2200?
Members Satyrist
Either Dr. Z or Valvetech. Dr. Z makes some real winners. It's no clone, but the Maz 18 Jr is a great amp.

Members Berserker22
Will they build the Hayseed combo with Celestion Alnico Blues, or are the Weber's suffiecient? Would it be better to buy the head and match it with a suitable cab? Gil

Members Herald of Light
I would have to agree...Hayseed. But how about the new Vox AC30 handwired series? Aside from the fact that the EF86 channel is way cooler than the normal channel, they're not really better, and they have no master volume, which is absolutely retarded. And they're still made in China. $2,000? No thank you.

Yeah it sounds like the vox stuff but not as cutting on the treble and way bassier (yet tighter). I also like what I hear of the 65 amps london.
