Im in this camp 100%

My marshalls and kranks KILL with gt75s...

Not so much with v 30s....

v30's sound nice but I {censored}in love the high end on the 75's.

Most people are playing unbroken in 75's which are brittle as {censored} thus the bad rep, me thinks.

It totally depends on the amp. For my VHT the 75s are better. I did a lot of testing w/my iso cab into my 2480 and all things being the same the 75s always sounded better. The 30s had a, for lack of better words, crusty honk to the mids. The 75 were clear in the full range.

Still like to upgrade my cab and try some G12K100's.

t75s.. i like 'em with a 50+ watt el34 or el84 head. open back: awful. but in a closed back cab--- way nice. without bass support from a cab-- they don't work at all-- it gives them enough ass end to sound good.

low watts- nope. too stiff.

thiele cab- not really. not enough bass support.

open back- absolutely not.

6l6es- probably not enough mids.

rhythm- you bet-- especially with gain with the right amp.

v30's.. never sound clean to my ears, but worse, they almost never sound GOOD to my ears.. especially if you like amps with prominent mids.
