That's badass, and I guarantee it will be worth money when I am an old man. Just for the collector/quirky nature of it.

By collector/quirky do you mean like a 66 Rambler?

I have the silvertone guitar (somewhere) & the neck is actually ok for what it is. But it is not solidly built so the tuning is not stable and the tone is poor. So you really would never actually play it.

The guitar basically adds nothing to the deal.

For 7 bills you could find a good vintage off-brand amp that you'd actually use and would sound great.

It's already 45 years old and STILL isn't worth {censored}.

Silvertone gear isn't exactly in demand.

Is you {censored}in' high?

$700-$500 ain't exactly {censored}.({censored}in' clean amp + case) My Dano "Jimmy Page" D/C

was a great player, and those amps w/a mic in front of 'em record huge.

Your head, sir is lodged firmly in your ass.:thu:

Enjoy!

How much did they go for new back in the day?

Also, yes, the headstock is lulztastic. Square like a gibson, but all the tuners on one side.:facepalm:

So...because he's asking $700, that makes the guitar worth $700?

Maybe I've been doing it wrong.

$99 new in 1964

this site has asking prices of 800-1000.

I'm tellin you though. You'd play it for 5 mins & then stick it in a closet.

If you're a collector I suppose its a bit cheaper than a 64 strat

There you go, and I'm sure there have been some bought for that price. Let's say they sell for 600. That's 600% profit. I don't give a {censored} if it sounds like dick, and it doesn't play like a custom shop guitar. People buy things for their quirky nature and collectability.

What cost $99 in 1964 would cost $655.30 in 2007.

http://www.westegg.com/inflation/

So, you've effectively made a net loss of $60 once inflation is factored in.
Now, the numbers chance if you're selling them for $700 or $800...or $1500 like this guy:

Dude, if you want it because you think it's cool...go ahead.
Just don't try to justify it as an investment.
