WTF... I thought these things were supposed to be bullet proof!!!!

Turned it on the other night and got the blinking red light of death. The damn thing was a month out of warranty too.

Luckily, the g/f was in a {censored} mood that night and called up Sony and bitched until they said they'd fix it for free.

Then I ran out and bought a XBox360. :thu:

But fail to Xbox for not having a optical out for audio like the PS3 does. Now I need to get a new 5.1 receiver.

It's on the cable for the top connector, on the side.

If you're using HDMI you don't need optical.

I'll have to look again. I didn't see anything other than an HDMI cable.

And I do use HDMI and still need optical. HDMI goes into the TV and optical goes into the 5.1. 5.1 is old enough to not have HDMI. :(

Ah, bummer. :(

You may need to mod the cable though, as apparently it's a tight fit on some systems for the HDMI and the plastic can be removed.

Oh, and couldn't you go HDMI to your TV and than optical from the TV into your receiver?

I never thought of that. I'll look into it.
