Members TornadoOfSouls
Wow, gas prices there are horrific. They're still a bit high in the U.S. but it's stable at this point. About $55 to fill up my tank. I feel for you brother.

Members satannica
This Govt. has it all figured. Petrol the one thing people need for their very livelihoods. So tax it up and make protests illegal! Nice. Even the British Airways thing is nothing but a patsy. Get the Unite union, who have always been in Nu-Labour pockets to spark off this contravertial action before the election allowing our glorious Fuhrer to step right in and save the day from this "deploarble" action. {censored}ing dirty bastards, all of them! {censored}ing scum! You watch - that strike will not take place and ol' one-eye will get the credit! But seriously, I'm doing the math... this just isn't feasible anymore. This isn't about green initiatives, it's about being a dirty bastard!
Members thinkpad20
Holy {censored}... how's the fuel efficiency on your car? For me it's about 45 bucks to fill up my tank, and I think I get about 10km/liter which works out to around 23 miles per gallon... not great, not terrible. Members -Assy-
i only pay about 29 dollars to fill up my tank, and i get about 290-310 miles a tank. about 2.40 a gallon here, might have gone up or down a bit in the past week though. Members satannica
The Japanese have been using Kei cars for years; they get insane mileage and they cost very little, taxes and insurance are both cheaper too... but they feel like toys when you drive them. They're very convenient but goddamn. LOL I'd love to see them on British motorways! Or even our roads, most of them have massive pot-holes! Members GRANKOR
Fact is, unless you live out in the boonies you don't need a car in the UK. In large parts of the US normal day to day life is all but impossible without one
Members NinjaRaf
Damn. You guys must be commuting far too. My car has a 13 gallon tank, and with gas prices at about 2.80/gallon, it costs me about 27 or so to fill up my tank, which lasts about a week unless I make a trip out of town or something. Its still WAY higher than when I first got a car....I remember 15 bucks and a tank would last 2 weeks!!

In large parts of the US normal day to day life is all but impossible without one In other words, anywhere outside of the M25? Even in St. Albans when I was car-less, it was two hours in the morning and three hours at night to commute to work. Really, travelling five hours a day compared to a 45 minute drive in the car... there's no competition! I was more than glad to go car shopping! I'm surprised to see we haven't seen the ugly socialists rising up to tell me what an evil person I am for bemoaning petrol prices... yet! rbasaria... really in the UK, right now you take a job where you can get it! The idea of getting a decent job accross the street doesn't exist!
Members thinkpad20
American gas prices are ridiculously low compared to most of the rest of the world.
