Get a job nearer? I live in Leeds and I could be in Manchester in an hour or so I doubt it takes 2/3 hours to get to London from St Albans...

Try it :D

You can be in london in an hour, but then you got to get to where you're going, then back out again!

I did it for 12 months, I think I know how long it took me.

Yeah but what can we do? Vote for the tories? {censored} that mate. The current bunch might be a bunch of jokers and I dont agree with even half of their policies but the tories? I guess we vote lib dems and hope to god that we have a hung parliament.

Honestly? No, I don't think tories are that short sighted.

But the amazing thing is, I'll definatley be voting labour this election. Strange, isn't it!

The Libdems would probably just finish flushing this country down the toilet a bit quicker and with a bit more force....I don't know about the tories, but if my personal experience of politics is anything to go by i.e living in the 70s through the winter of discontent etc and then the 80s, I can't believe they'd make a worse job of it...at least they won't insist that the default option in this country is to live on f*cking benefits and milk the state for every f*cking thing they can whilst those who actually work for a f*cking living don't end up paying for the whole f*cking jamboree......I'll get off my soapbox now..

good luck in Arizona, you could move to Mogadishu and probably live a better life than in the UK mind....

Despite the grade-A bull{censored} and lies this government has told you, you still think Tories are worse? Really!?

I guess that's the Northern in you lol!

Nowt to do with being northern. I just think that they are full of {censored} and if they're both full of {censored} you might as well stick with what you've got rather than waste {censored}-tonnes of cash on changing the administration over to be no better off. We both know that the lib dems will never get a sniff of it unless we get a hung parliament.

This is why we should all vote labour, even the hardline tories (like myself).

If tories win this time, all that will happen is the thick people of Britain with their open-mouthed vacant gaze will just buy the socialist bollocks of "These guys are no better" or when tough times call for tough measures and we might have to ya know maybe pay off our national debt rather than fund an after-school club in Chutley Heath, have these slackers spouting off things like "These guys are even worse!"...

Yup, people of Britain are too thick to realise a recovery process takes more than a few weeks. Labour's policy of spending out of recession is a nightmarish fallacy, but I think it's needed to reinforce what a collosal {censored}up of a Government they really are - and for a long time, not a few weeks!

Labour has guided the UK into the worst recession of our times, encouraged the growth of the workshy and lazy, dissolved our education systems, made enemies of those with university education and vilified people trying to do a {censored}ing day's work. Yet we still have these hapless morons walking around who emphatically trust this one-eyed tit! Usually they're the ones in receipt of benefits I might add!

So I say, let's vote em in. Get ol' Harriet Harman on a big float to go around {censored}ing the entire country up one county at a time with ludicrous proposals, multi-million pound efforts that benefit three small woodchuck people in a cave who happen to have a culturally diverse attitude to chicken packing and in three years when even Albania is laughing and saying "Who is your daddy", we can ensure a nice long Tory Government. A good 12 years is what we need at least of proper tory leadership, with these socialist thugs heralded as the treacherous tyrants they are. The image of Gordon Brown and Tony Blair closely followed with that of Stalin and Mao.

In fact, if we could somehow surgically implant the brain of Thatcher into a prime minister's body, bring it the {censored} on!!!! It's the only way to ensure a lengthy tory government!

Fact is, unless you live out in the boonies you don't need a car in the UK. In large parts of the US normal day to day life is all but impossible without one

I live in North Norfolk, one of the most affluent areas of the UK, super high house prices and high fuel prices, round here you have to have a car. For example, there is no train from the town i live in, to the town where my office is, the bus take 1 hour and 20 minutes and costs

Yeah but the tories were the whole reason labour got in because they {censored}ed up the country for a long stint. It'll change hands. Things will seem to improve for 5-10 years then the wheels will fall off again. Rince and repeat.

In the era of the career politician what can we do?

Really? How did John Major's administration (forgive the Americanism) {censored} up the country? Labour managed to convince the voting public that they were sick of "Tory Sleeze"...

I seem to remember during his administration we didn't have rife unemployment, we didn't blow stupid amounts on a millenium dome as an exercise in the absurdity of political correctness, finish it off with a stupid ferris wheel on the thames or god knows what else.

Don't get me wrong, Major was no saint... but really?

At least when Thatcher was in she kciked the arse of the striking miners, Gordon Brown (texture like sun) is trying to do the same with the BA staff, but because he's a dopey blind twat that nobody likes, nobody actually has his back. I reckon a terrorist from the BA staff will blow him up soon.

LOL

A good old fashioned North vs South bash-up!

Who needs racial tension, we got plenty to work with up on in here
:D

You northern deep-fried-mars-bar eating git! lol

I lived in the North once, it was {censored}.

Up North a recognised hobby is burning out 1992 Ford Sierras. Well done on keeping the Scottish out though, its been the only thing the North has ever succeeded at.

rbasaria... really in the UK, right now you take a job where you can get it! The idea of getting a decent job accross the street doesn't exist!

I lucked out and got one 5 mins walk from my flat.

Petrol is a luxury item for me fortunately - mostly goes in my motorbike and some in my POS Volvo I use for moving band gear around.

Have you considered cycling?

Nah the damage was done before that and they managed to drag the country into a recession without the aide of a global finance collapse!

The millenium dome was a cock up but that probably would have gone through no matter who was in charge of the batphone.

Unemployment was nominally 5% throughout the mainstay of the labour years, which got shat on by global economic collapse, of which the seeds were sewn decades ago by the carter administration encouraging sub-prime lending. Unemployment under the tories through the 80's was nominally 10%.

Like I said, this BA thing is all electioneering! You'll see, there will be no strike, Brown will get the credit! You heard it here first!

Also, the miners had a three year notice period and plenty opportunities to re-train for other jobs and industries! Maggie told them three years before she closed the mines what she was doing!
