Members Terry Allan Hall
Kinda similar (in concept, at least) to a hurdy-gurdy... I saw someone playing one of these at a festival I was also booked at...unfortunately, the girl playing it spoke only Korean, and the sum total of my knowledge of that language is to be able to order a few favorite dishs in my favorite Korean restaurant, and to say "Thank You", so I still have no idea what it's called... Members chiro972
If you want different:http://www.windworld.com/feature_pages/daxophone.htmScott O OK, now that was freaking bizarre, but oddly compelling. I had to listen to the clip about 5 times to believe that sound was coming from that instrument.
Members totamus
Never have I seen anything like it. "oddly compelling" beats any descriptor I could come up with. Sounds like a whistling machine...

Members Cripes
Think I want to build this (or similar): http://www.windworld.com/feature_pages/wobble.htm Nifty sound in a "Close Encounters..." sort of way.
Members Terry Allan Hall
Nifty sound in a "Close Encounters..." sort of way. Yeah, it sorta has a Theremin-quality, doesn't it...or maybe somewhat like a musical saw. My pedalsteel-guitar whiz buddy, Lowell, listened to it and already has decided that if we can put a similar instrument together he'll play it on a few songs from the up-coming CD...he REALLY wants to build one that'll have 10 strings and at least two pedals, if we can figure out how to rig it up. I'll post pics if we're successful.
