Members DarkHorseJ27
I was curious to see how common (or uncommon) they are with acoustic guitar.
Members Melodeous
I never let a recording go out the door dry. I usually add about 5-7% verb on everything. Can't wear flip-flops and shorts everywhere all the time.
Members S~R~O
I have them. I use them on both types guitars (i.e. Acoustic and Electric). It just depends on my emotions-feelings-moods. gee, that gives me variety don't-cha think.
Members seagullplayer77
Whenever I play my Ovation live, I always play with a little reverb (my Boss RV-3) and some EQ (my Boss EQ-20). When I play with my worship team, I usually just use my standard live acoustic setup (EQ-20 and RV-3), but occasionally, I'll use some overdrive or some chorus, and I'll occasionally throw my phaser into the mix as well. Yeah, yeah, I know---if I want to use that many effects, I should just use an electric, but my lead guy plays electric and the church would probably flip if there were two electric guitars on stage. So I try not to rock the boat and I just stick with my acoustic, even though it doesn't always sound like one .
Members gubu
Reverb is essential for a strummer in a band, di'd or preamped. Recording wise, sometimes you get the room just so and no effect is required
Members Etienne Rambert
For recording? I always use JoeMeek compression. Nothing else. Now that I've got an LR Baggs on my Grey Goose though & a better mixer, I can experiment. I'm going to mic the goose with the JoeMeek compression & at the same time, plug it into a different track with a light reverb & chorus. I have to take some time to find the right ratio. Members min7b5
I use a little reverb in some rooms, but otherwise I never use effects on acoustic guitar.
Members garthman
Quite a bit. I have set up 3 banks each of 4 pedals on my Zoom 3000 processor for acoustic effects - just modest tweaks to EQ, compressor, reverb, chorus, etc, effects. Members OldGuitarPlayer
Sometimes I use a cheap Behringer Chorus pedal when I play live. That's about it really.
