Phil O'Keefe
Hmmm... Initial thoughts? To me, it looks suspiciously like they've taken a long look at a certain Groove Tubes product. Prices?
Members seaneldon
they added key features though, like input AND output level, basic EQ buttons, and phase reversal. though they will probably cost a little more bread than the brick. i don't personally have a need for either one. I have 3 channels of 610/Tube stuff, and 8 channels of 110/FET stuff (with selection of signal path). they'll be great in smaller studios though. Members Thelonius
I've heard some questioning regarding the UA reissue stuff. Don't know anything about it though. What's the word on that?
Members UstadKhanAli
Hmmmm...looks like it could be interesting. Was kickin' around the idea of picking up the Portico by Rupert Neve Designs.
Members halfguard
i was looking at these as my first real mic pre. do you think one of these would be good for rap vocals?
Members Eric Dahlberg
The Solo/610 is an M610 without the line level input. It also has continuously variable input gain instead of the 5 position switch of the original, so in that way is improved, although the lowest setting isn't quite as low as the -10 setting on the M610. UA had both preamps opened up at the show. The Solo/610 has big transformers, tubes, & lots of discrete electronics, all the good stuff of the original. I don't know enough about the 4110 & Solo/110 to make a comparison. btw, check out UA's new UAD-1 Flexi Pak.
Members guitwizz
The UA site has no specs on it, I was curious as to the noise level. Would it be the same as the big brothers?
