Members jrm27
Hey everyone:The band I'm in is writing some more songs where it might be fun to have a 12 string in the arsenel. Can anyone reccomend me a decntly priced 12 string? Has anyone every built one from parts bought from Warmoth? Or something similar? Just wondering how they turned out! -jon-

Members Tweedledee
There's always the Agile (Though I haven't heard a review from anyone here who actually owns one):http://www.rondomusic.net/250012.html
Members jrm27
wow, that eastwood is good looking! Have you ever played one like it? I've also looked at the agile, and though I am a bit leery, I am also interested. Reviews anyone?
Members theAntihero
I have an OLP 12 string that i like. Its not so much jangly as it is full though. Its only $179 at MF right now. The only problem i had is that the tuners are really recessed so if you wrap alot of string it gets pinched and cut.

Members Greg Bogoshian
Go to www.carvin.com and look up DC120, AE185-12, and AC275-12. Depending on whether you are looking for solidbody, hollowbody, or acoustic electric, these three are most definitely worth looking at...
Members ChrisGansz
Rickenbacker would be at the top of the list. I have a Danelectro Innuendo 12 string tha I will NEVER part with! Go with a Dano for cheap 12 string vibes!
Members dewees
I want a Hamer Newport 12 - I'd probably change out the SD Phat Cats for TV Jones pickups, though.

Members mattburnside
A serious consideration with 12-strings is the string spacing. I tried the Fender XII and while I loved the sound, it felt really cramped because it's the same with as a traditional strat neck. Some can deal with that fine, but I gots me some stubby little fingers. I tried a Schecter CSH-12 (a GC exclusive, apparently) and found the string spacing to be much more to my liking. It also has a nice variety of tones, what with the coil-splitting and whatnot.

But the somewhat cramped string spacing does make it a bit challenging to play and if I were to buy another 12 string electric I'd go for a humbucker model, I think the single coils lack presence when I'm jamming with this guitar.
