I never thought Bbreaker was bragging-I always thought of it as SHARING his collection with a bunch of guitar nuts.

And it's not as if Lou acted like he was some rich prick with money just rolling around on his floor; remember all those 'I've been up since Wednesday making deliveries' threads? The dude WORKED for those guitars, and let you know it.

And I absolutely LOVED that double LPJR pic he used to post.

I mean, you say you won't be hanging out here, ok. But what will you be doing, instead? Let me know, quick. There may still be time for me to relocate, or reallocate my time, or switch gears, or whatever.

Should I be watching more TV? Should I be down at the bar? Practicing, working, vacationing in Aruba?

Maybe we need a forum in HC for old people like us. We could discuss prostate enlargement, viagra and denture adhesive.:D

I try to not post where I feel like a turd in the punchbowl and I can see how posting a collection like bbreaker's would grate on some people's nerves, for me it was just amazing. What were we talking about.....?:D

Only those that are jealous of what you have (which seems to be quite a few forumites). Doesn't bother me at all, I enjoy seeing other folk's gear.

I saw no problems with the guy at all, but as always, WHY bother making an event out of leaving a forum???.. You just turn the computer off and walk out into the world... and then when the urge hits, turn it on again and type a few words... The world keeps turning regardless...

I have seen hundreds of guys leave this forum in a similar manner... most with muliple thousands of posts.. I have been around since the very early days... I like the forum, but man, lets not take it so seriously... post when you want, and don't post when you don't want to,, simple.... bob

Practicing? Hmmm..... What an interesting idea!

Maybe I should try that? Nah! Who am I kidding? :(

One thing cool about the internet, though. You don't have to worry about a door hitting you on the ass as you leave.

Well Value and Collectability are two big factors when it comes to an investment like that ... ESPECIALLY vintage guitars!

Bbreaker has a great collection. I hope he comes back on. No matter how contentious things get around here it is still fun. Sometimes the infighting breaks the monoteny of Agile vs Gibson vs Fender vs high price/low price, USA/Asia arguments.

Amen.

I've never really been all that impressed with big collections of guitars - and no - not because I'm jealous. I'm just not into material {censored}. I don't need 20 cars either. You've seen one picture of an old guitar, you've seen them all. So I skip over the collection pic threads and join in on ones that interest me.

But that's just me.

So if he gets upset because some folks don't ooh & ahh over a bunch of old intruments or feel a compulsion to amass way more guitars than they'll ever need or be able to play than so be it.

Maybe he decided to go thru his collection and change the strings and play a little bit on each one. That ought to take a couple of years. :D

Sorry to all if I had anything to do with his leaving. I never intended that and certainly not generally an asshole. Just thought that instead of posting pics EVERY SINGLE TIME any thread that happened to mention Post Your Gear came up, maybe post a link to the previous 30 threads that your gear is posted in. I dont have great {censored}, I have posted some of it before but damn, I dont to post all of it everytime someone posts their stuff. LINK it.

Don't miss his pics....do a search...it's all there. BBreaker IS a benefit to this board, more so than I.

So, BBreaker.....come back and I'll keep my mouth shut for the benefit of the other members.

Once again, please accept my apologies.

My bad....

You see tons of threads on this forum where people go, "check out how great this SX is that I got for $99!". I know I post pictures of my guitars almost every time there is a relavent thread. The difference is that bBreaker talks about his vintage gear, and he has so many guitars there's always a thread that he can post them in.

And somehow this comes off as bragging? There's no conceptual difference in his actions on this forum compared to everyone else's.

Never hurts to have a guy like that. I was surprised he even posted here much instead finding a forum where he wasn't one of a handful of people with legit vintage guitar collections. He gives me hope :D
