Members FUBTAG
Hey guys... Over the past year or so, a bunch of people have expressed interest in hearing an example of the GFS Lipstick pickups. This was a preloaded pickguard that I got from GFS about a year ago (maybe longer...) .. to refresh your memory it looks like this... I have been in and out of the studio for a while now. The song I have is called Been Thinkin'. It's a psuedo-blues tune. It really highlilghts the clean sound of the guitar's pickups. The leads were done on a modified 77 Strat. There are 2 lead players... I play the intro/outro and the 2nd solo in the middle. Still some re-finement needed (as well as laying down the vocals and of course mixing) but this isn't about the song -- it's about the guitar... http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/20...c/Serendip.mp3 http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/20...hwslv/been.mp3

Members GUITKRAZY
I loved the tone of the clean guitar!~ What kind of amp did you run through- and the second solo- what amp/ effects were used- it almost sounded like a plexi?

Members Ryan Trevisol
So was the lead done with the same pickups? Both guitar sounds are awesome. I've been toying around with these pickups for a while. Thanks for providing us with some awesome clips!

I believe that I used a Marshall Head... but I do not recall. No effects were used. TREV.. The leads were done on a modified 1977 Strat. It isn't mine so I don't know the specifics. I had the LP in the studio yesterday but when we started working on this tune, just needed the 'feel' of a strat. Maybe I will post the other tune to give you guys an idea of what I mean. I have an old ibanez stratish dealy that plays well, but has crap pups. I was thinking those GFS lipsticks would be an interesting upgrade for it. Members Mo' Cowbell
Excellent work. I found myself looking for a touch more high end (treble) sound quality wise, but it is a superior recording. Clean. Definitely not some kid with a POD on his PC. Thanks for making it.
