I've got this Epiphone Elitist Casino on hold for me - talk me out of it, please!

Great guitar. I have a Riviera 12 Elitist. It's totally amazing--made in the Gretsch factory right along side the $2500 6120's and Duo Jets.

Yep, I'm wrapping up the deal today as soon as Andrew calls me back.

The natural no doubt looks nice, but I can't resist a free sunburst paint job thrown in. Soooo classic, not that the natural isn't as well.

I've just got to get serious now about thinning down the herd. Accumulating the toys is kinda cool, but also kind of insane. I mean, I don't want to take Bbreaker's crown for quantity (and of course I couldn't even come close to taking it for "vintage quality) so I need to get off this track soon. So expect to see a few "gently previously owned GAS Man Guitars" showing up soon in a SPAM thread near you.

Seemed like most of you said "go for it". Should expect that from HCEG, but I thought I might also get a bit more admonishment for my excesses. :o

I just hope the economy improves, because if my little world ever collapses, I'll need a healthy market out there to help me unload.

Man, do I ever know of where you speak! Just a few months ago, I bought a 100w Marshall JVM, as well as a Mesa Lonestar 50/100 1x12. I seriously planned to make my decision between the two and sell off the other. Well, they're both still sitting in there. :eekphil::eekphil:

I am also expecting the UPS truck with my new SZ4020 today. Even though you helped create my GAS for the LP Elitist that I had ordered, I guess I should thank you for helping provide GAS for this Ibanez-- it saved me $300 over the Epi LP! :thu:

I have that one. I love the guitar. The wood they used was amazing. The solid spruce top has lines so close together that I have to figure the top came from a tree at least 200 years old. The flame on the back and sides is
that 3-D look. You can actually see the honeycomb of every cell in the wood so it looks like a fine cloth. I didn't like the Epiphone pickups though, and I replaced them with a Gibson Burstbucker II and a Burstbucker Pro. The knobs were kinda cheap looking so I replaced them with gold plated ones.
I'd love to get an Elit Byrdland but they're too expensive even used.

I don't know anything about the Elite Casino. Is it better plywood or something?

I just hope that works out for you. I really like the Epi Elitist LP I have as well and that Ibanez sure looks sweet. It's also nice that Ibanez collaborated to work with Duncan on those pickups so you know they will perform as intended.

And if you ever do decide to pick up an Elitist, do try Sweetwater. I've been working with Andrew Teeple and they do try to be competitive to get and keep your business. Looks like they are hanging in there with the Elitist line for now.

Good to know-- thanks.

I will see how this 4020 sits with me. If it ain't cuttin' the mustard, I'll have to go back to the Elitist.

Good luck with yours too.
