Members GAS Man
I've got some frequent flyer miles with these guys, so I'd be getting a bit of a deal, but of course I don't need it.
Members warriorpoet
Talk you out of it? OK. Your significant other, once she finds out, will wait until you are sleeping to duct-tape you to the bed frame, then slowly crush your testicles with vice-grips before cutting them off with a rusty butter knife. Nice guitar

Members GAS Man
You know, I wouldn't have even seen this "What's New!" guitar if Sweetwater hadn't gone back to buying banner advertising space on HCEG.
Members docjeffrey
Great guitar. I have a Riviera 12 Elitist. It's totally amazing--made in the Gretsch factory right along side the $2500 6120's and Duo Jets. I've been considering one of those Casinos. You need it. Members GAS Man
elitist casinos are somewhat rare AFAIK They seem to be going that way fer sher. This seems to be about the last model that Epiphone has listed on their site, but I did also notice that Sweetwater also have an Elitist Goldtop shown in their "What's New!" guitar gallery as well as these Casinos. Members docjeffrey
This is teh xes. $1089. If you could talk Music123 into giving you the 15% off deal [Epi isn't on the list], you're looking at $939. Sweet.

Members Carbohydrates
Elitists are being discontinued, presumably because they're SO awesome, they're cutting into Gibson sales. Hit that (like the fist of an angry god).

Hit that (like the fist of an angry god). That was a rumor 3 or 4 years ago when MF blew out the Elitist LP Standards. I hope it's not true. Anyway, most of the Elitists are only marked down 35% at the moment which is hardly a bargain. When they go down to 50%, I might have my first NGD in a year. I want a one of the Les Paul Customs. I'd like to trick it out with TV Jones Powertrons and a Fishman Powerbridge--make it a gigger and leave my expensive Gibsons at home.

Don't know what the future holds for them, but MF is selling them on "Clearance", "Limited to Stock on Hand". Also, they do not appear on the Epi website. I ordered an Elitist LP Custom a few weeks ago. The original due date was 11/15 on the website, and as I checked out. A few days later, I got an update on the backorder listing an expected date of 1/30/09! I know I posted this last week. Anyway, I got in on those Ibanez SZ4020 Prestige that they are also clearing out. I am expecting it to compare pretty well with the Elitist in terms of quality. I am hoping for a NGD by Monday/Tuesday. Oh, and I saved about $300! PaulS

Members GAS Man
That's got to be a great axe, but I find the bigger the guitar, the less I tend to pick them up. Has to be a foible of the "sit down guitarist". The 335 styles are about as big as I dare go. Even my Gretsch 6120 is a bit neglected. I'm a baaaaaad GAS'r. Members GAS Man
Your 3 pup Riv sits unloved, with wet eyes, watching you and your GAS! You hit the nail on the head. I really like the P93, so it's like, if I like the P93, maybe I'd like this Elitist Casino even better! But then what would I do with the P93? Maybe just luv it for its Bigby? kinda rhymes doesn't it? The P93 Riviera is kinda cool. I'm still not viewing that as uncool decision at this point. But I do survey the trembling herd more and more with thoughts of "which one should go!" I'm partly driven by the curiosity of how much better would the Elitist sound with a bit better woods, pickups and hollow body versus the P93's semi-hollow design?? Members songsforbears
I'm not going to lie to you, it's a pretty guitar, but here's my experience... Members nautaki
Good looking guitar, quite famous and pretty standard Epiphone design as opposed to the Les Paul copies, so go for it. Does anyone have one of the limited copies of the US made John Lennon Epiphone Casino? Any thoughts on that guitar and in particular in comparison to the Elitist? The Elitist semis are made at the Terada plant, one of the best in the world, by experienced craftspeople. Sometimes that alone doesn't translate into tone, but over time, I'll bet you'll start to hear the difference: http://www.gretschguitars.com/terada/
