hmmmm I'll give you my left nut for that first tel:lol:

Got it for $125 w/non-Fender gigbag. Seller misrepresented it as the more expensive California Series, so I walked, came back a couple weeks later when I knew seller was desperate and offered him a "take-it-or-leave-it" offer. Tex-Mex Tele Special, with 5-way switching and splittable neckbucker.

I have too many to have favorites, but here's some you should be aware of.

First Act Lola - great wood and hence sound, well made.
Daisy Rock, any of them.
Michael Kelly - sux for mods. Nothing to do. :(
Brownsville, Xaviere, Agile, New York Pro, Hofner, Dano, Samick, SX, etc.

Most (like 95%) of my guitars are cheapies. None are junk. Some are giant killers.

I likes cheapies!

i bought one back in '07 for $200, have done some alterations
(changed knobs from black to gold, partail-refret and set up)

not a bad little beast, it's my main axe for right now...and w/ a new set of pups it'll kick ass

pics

i have one like this but it has a maple fretboard and a standard trme instead of a 2-point

it's got severe wear and tear....it is still one of my favorites...it's all worn out and retired...but it had the best stock sound of any cheapie i've ever played

I'd love to try those Classic Vibes, seem to be all the rage at the moment. They sure do look pretty. Around 5 years ago you wouldn't have seen me dead with a Squier. These days I think they're making some nice quality instruments, odd how things change. These days I default to Squier for cheapies!

Every single one of my guitars would fall under your "cheapie" umbrella.

And I love every single one of them for different reasons.

I have to go with the Classic Vibe Tele as my current fave. It's a hell of a lot of fun and solid for the $209 I paid.
