Members mbengs1
What are the advantages to recording in stereo than in mono ? I can't really tell. It sounds the same to me. I split the signal with my chorus pedal and went into my bugera 6262 and my marshall 3x10 combo. This is the sound that I got. Members Chordite
I can hear it separating out the sharp percussion sound is particularly dynamic. I would suggest trying a stereo expander or 'aphex aural exciter' if you really want to push the effect.Unfortunately I can't find an effective demo vid of either one, probably something to do with youtube compression and bandwidth.I might drag my old Aphex out and do a quick before and after demo later. Members mbengs1
I listened to the song I posted and I think it sounds better than mono recording. it's clearer and the highs seem more audible.
Phil O'Keefe
Stereo is about position and (potentially) movement in the stereo sound field. I didn’t listen to your clip, but most Chorus pedals will have a “wet”and a “dry” output... you’ll hear the effect on one side and the dry guitar on the other if you pan the two tracks hard left / right... Members Etienne Rambert
I listened to part of the song mbengs. You're a good player. That particular recording will sound better in stereo. Personally, I like mono. Stereo is good too, as chordite wrote. It brings out the different percussion parts.
