Members mstreck
We are not going to be close to being as busy as we were last summer. We have two... count 'em, TWO venues booked between now and September. Fortunately, one is an almost-weekly beach gig which will keep us fairly busy, but the other doesn't happen until July. Still... things are looking pretty grim as far as gigs go. I'm hoping we can use the beach gig as a stepping stone to a few more beach-area gigs, private parties, and maybe a few new places inland. We're just ending one dry spell and I don't want to end up in another one as soon as the tourists leave. Anyhow... how you doin'?
Members jimiv
We are approximately on the same pace as we were last year. The big difference is this. We are getting twice the inquiries we got last year, but we are getting hammered with the competition undercutting us on price. It is beginning to look the way it did a decade or so ago when the same undercutting was going on at the cover band clubs. That's why I got out of the clubs and bars,...that and other reasons covered ad nauseum on this board. Now, it looks like the same thing is eroding the privates market. WOOO!)July: 5 gigsAugust: 6 gigs I think as soon as PH starts the weekly shore gig your schedule will fill up fast.
Members J.Paul
It's about 60% less work than we usually doIt would usually be booked by now but a few things are starting to shift and even cancel for some other ("bigger") dates in late summer that we haven't gone public with. There are more things happening that I can't disclose than what we (she is) are public with ..... So at least that's good. It makes it hard to fill in solo acoustic days when I don't know what's going to happen ..... So that sucks. We' re not doing production this year or the van (which is progress) although fly date call times are 4:30 am and bus Internet sucks. I've got a week in July and a week in August for Paul FM Florida dates that I haven't booked yet ( so not sure with that yet) - although I'm on a few agent rosters now ( which doesn't really mean dick) ---- it seems to be a quality over quantity summer. The Today Show, opening for Big & Rich, CMA, blah blah blah but I would rather have more work and less glamour ( that's not the right word is it? .... " cushy" maybe) At least I have time for a love life this summer so that rocks.
Members SpaceNorman
My summer is looking pretty decent ... July is a little lighter than desired but that's somewhat by design (bandmate vacations). We've got another 3 private events that we've been contacted about and expect to come thru that aren't included in the list. What I'm happiest about is that the vast majority of the work that we have on the books are decent paying private events. The 2 marginal paying gigs are 2 hour "concert in the park" events that while not making much in terms of $$ - have historically produced at least 1 private event in follow-up. Now that we're playing pretty much everything with the full horn section, we expect that trend to continue. Here's my summer gig count per month:June: 3 July: 2 August: 4 September:
Members sweatpat
It's looking pretty good except for June, no gigs at all! Not sure what happened but I'm scrambling right now!
Members modulusman
I have 26 dates booked so far between now and labor day. I will be playing with 2 bands and only 2 of the dates are in bars everything else is better paying private or events. Two of the events are festivals, one we play mainstage at 4 and then the after party at midnight. The second one is a 3 day festival where we are headlining on Saturday. Members Vito Corleone
A little lighter than last year and booking up later. I think we're taking a lot of gigs we would have had to turn down last year because we were already booked. Money is the same though. We haven't lowered our price. Not yet anyway. Members tlbonehead
too soon to tell. We usually don't book over a couple months in advance, other than special events. Just got 3 more June gigs though, last weekend.

Members TrickyBoy
Things were looking fine for us 5 gigs a month, but we just had 3 cancel (one was a two nighter at the same place)in June leaving us with just 1 gig that month. However we already have 6 in July including a new casino, So our goal is to learn 10-15 new tunes in June and have a spruced up setlist for the fall. Members tim_7string
Compared to our last two summers, this one is looking pretty good. We've had six nights in June, six more coming up in July and at least four in August at the moment (with possibly a couple more that month). 2011 was pretty sparse (9 nights total for June-August) and 2012 was even worse (5 nights total for June-August). Even though we played a wedding in the summer of 2011 and a street dance in the summer of 2012, we are making more this year than we did in previous years. Yesterday was my first outdoor event this year. We played here http://www.headwaterscountryjam.com/. We were on the mainstage at 4 and then played the afterparty at midnight. After the 4 O'clock performance I started to feel sick with a headache and urge to puke. I think I was dehydrated. Someone said it was about a 120 degrees on stage. At the midnight show my gear got covered in dust from all the people dancing in front of the stage. The next outdoor event for my band will be at http://www.livingstonmusicfestival.com/#!untitled/sitepage_1 This is same festival that Gwen is playing. I will definately come see you guys. Hopefully no rain and moderate temperatures.

Members Chicken Monkey
No joke--if I was looking to make a profit-driven band, my target audience would likely be late-30s, early-40s ladies. Kinda "pre-cougar" types. A couple of well-dressed dudes, front woman, and 80s/90s pop hits.
