Members Huh?
Yes brother, it surely is. Donald Duck Dunn, Donna Summer and Robin Gibb within days of each other. It sucks, but as I said....we should really brace ourselves because it's likely there will be more. Our elder statesmen are getting to that point. RIP Robin. Members Geoff Grace
RIP RG. Now, Barry's the last surviving Bee Gee. Yes brother, it surely is. Donald Duck Dunn, Donna Summer and Robin Gibb within days of each other. It sucks, but as I said....we should really brace ourselves because it's likely there will be more. Our elder statesmen are getting to that point. RIP Robin. Don't forget Chuck Brown. Sad to see so many greats pass away. Best, Geoff
Members blue2blue
And don't forget Earl Scruggs and Doug Dillard.
Members Geoff Grace
Yes, Doug Dillard died just a few days ago as well. And for that matter, so did Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Earl Scruggs was March 28--recent enough. It's been a tough year already, no doubt. Best, Geoff
Moderators Lee Knight Posted May 21, 2012 Moderators Share Posted May 21, 2012 This is how I remember him... [video=youtube;fkG4oIPT7tU] I once was having a laugh and singing this song in my best Robin voice and my 7 year year old daughter started crying and said, "Stop dad. Don't... that's too sad." It is too sad. That's the way I felt about that song when I first heard it too, as young guy. Sure, it's corny but... Robin totally sold it with his cool melancholy, and really, at this stage of the Bee Gees, he was the voice of the Bee Gees for me. RIP Robin. Members Geoff Grace
Yeah, he was great at melancholy. Robin opens this song as well: [video=youtube;YPuIoVOEx1I]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPuIoVOEx1I Best, Geoff
