  1. Decomposer releases final beta version of the free drum plugin and standalone app December 4, 2019 - Christmas comes early this year! Musician and developer duo, Scott Wheeler and Lucijan Busch, a.k.a. Decomposer, have just released the latest update of their popular, FREE drum sampler instrument Sitala. While in beta, Sitala has already amassed accolades from the Reaperblog and BedroomProducerBlog. LANDR included it in their list of the best free VSTs ever. Available for PC, MAC and Linux as standalone or VST and AU plugin format, Sitala’s beauty is its simplicity: six knobs allow you to quickly explore the sound space and dial in just the sound you had in mind. Key features: 16 Assignable Pads: Users can use the Sitala factory kits or their own sounds. Each sample is analyzed for dynamics and pitch which makes the controls more intuitive and musical. Drag & Drop Sound Management: Drop single samples or groups of samples onto Sitala’s pads, or rearrange your pads by drag and drop. Built-in File Browser: Quickly browse through your samples without ever leaving the window. Shape: Adjust the attack, length and sustain of your sounds while the overall volume remains constant. Compression: Make your sounds punchier with more sustain. Automatic gain makeup maintains the overall volume while changing dynamics. Tuning: Pitch sounds up or down by up to one octave while showing you exactly where the current sound falls in the frequency spectrum. Tone: Shape your sounds to position them in the mix. Automatically adapts based on the pitch content of each sound. Volume / Pan: Adjust the sound’s overall volume and place it either to the left or right in the stereo mix. Editable MIDI Map: MIDI learn sets up triggers for each of Sitala’s pads and mappings for each control value. Default mappings are provided for chromatic pitch, white keys or General MIDI. Download Sitala FOR FREE: https://decomposer.de/sitala.html About Decomposer: Berlin-based musicians and software developers Scott Wheeler and Lucijan Busch make up Decomposer. They have worked together on various projects for 15 years. Sitala is their first release. Lucijan comes from a long line of musicians and instrument makers. His grandfather, whose record collection he inherited, was the violin virtuoso Adolf Busch; his uncle, Fritz Busch, the conductor of the Staatskapelle Dresden. Scott is a former professional electric bassist, and former Native Instruments software developer. He's particularly engaged with Berlin's underground techno scene, and has played in various Berlin clubs and festivals in and around Berlin. Decomposer will be releasing Sitala 1.0 in mid-2020.

  8. Versatile and Flexible Headset Positions a Miniature Microphone at the Opening of Each Ear ALLEROED, DENMARK, DECEMBER 2, 2019 – YouTubers, sound designers, podcasters, vloggers and other content creators, including filmmakers who want to capture authentic immersive audio for their projects, can now do so with ease thanks to the launch of the new 4560 CORE Binaural Headset Microphone from Danish manufacturer, DPA Microphones. The new binaural headset delivers the superior sound quality for which DPA products are internationally renowned. The professional quality of the microphones allows them to capture, in real time, exactly what each ear is hearing so that those listening on headphones can experience the full immersive sound. These qualities are also appealing to other applications such as sound system documentation, soundscape analysis, sound quality assessment, and sound for theatrical productions or gaming, among others. Jazz and classical musicians have also seen the potential in this mic: recording the sound from the performers’ perspective instead of the audience’s is a completely new way of sharing the artists’ sound experience with fans. The result, an ultimate surround experience. At the heart of DPA’s new 4560 CORE Binaural Headset is a pair of 4060 CORE Miniature Microphones mounted on two ear hooks and sitting just outside the user’s ear canal (like a pair of earbuds). This makes it possible to directly capture (1:1) the sound heard by the person making the recording. The ear hooks are attached to a flexible headset that is simple to fit, comfortable to wear and easily adjusted to suit the dimensions of each individual head. Foam screens are supplied with the microphones to secure their position and offer damping of wind noise. The 4060s have been the choice of many professional sound recordists on major motion pictures, such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Mission: Impossible — Fallout. It is also a well-known fact that individual 4060 lavaliers can be “stuffed” into ears to make very convincing binaural recordings. Now, there is a complete solution with a set of carefully pairedmicrophones that are as close in sensitivity as possible. In addition to being easily worn, the 4560s can attach to recording gear, like DPA’s MMA-A Digital Audio Interface, that connects to any iOS-devices. This gives users a quick and convenient mobile binaural recording solution for any setting. “Recordings made with DPA’s 4560 CORE Binaural Headset are so accurate that listeners often turn their head looking for the source of the sound,” says DPA Product Manager Rene Moerch. “Ideally, content recorded with this product should be listened to via headphones as the audio experience is much different when played back over stereo speakers. However, there are techniques that can provide corrections and upmix for stereo and multichannel formats, making this product useful for film recordists who want to gather content for atmospheric sound.” Moerch adds that another useful feature of a DPA 4560 CORE Binaural Headset Microphone is its ability to deceive; the microphone is so small that someone wearing the headset may look like they are only wearing earbuds. “This can be very useful for people recording in hostile environments where it is not safe or appropriate to show a microphone,” he says. “For traditional productions like podcast for example, binaural recording provides content that is much more immersive, alive and compelling compared to traditional recording techniques.” DPA’s new 4560 CORE Binaural Headset Microphone is listed at $1099.95 USD. For more information please visit www.dpamicrophones.com/4560. ABOUT DPA MICROPHONES: DPA Microphones is the leading Danish Professional Audio manufacturer of high-qualitycondenser microphone solutions for professional applications. DPA’s ultimate goal is toalways provide its customers with the absolute finest possible microphone solutions for all its markets, which include live sound, installation, recording, theatre and broadcast. When it comes to the design process, DPA takes no shortcuts. Nor does the company compromise on its manufacturing process, which is done at the DPA factory in Denmark. As a result, DPA’s products are globally praised for their exceptional clarity and transparency, unparalleled specifications, supreme reliability and, above all, pure, uncolored and undistorted sound. 9. Knoxville, TN, December 2, 2019 — Waves Audio, the world’s leading developer of professional audio signal processing technologies and leading maker of audio plugins for mixing, music production, mastering, sound design, broadcast, post-production and live sound, is now shipping a line of three new distortion plugins: Waves Abbey Road Saturator, Berzerk, and MDMX Distortion Modules. Waves Abbey Road Saturator is an analog-modeled saturation and distortion plugin developed with Abbey Road Studios engineers. Modeled directly from time-proven saturation chains at Abbey Road Studios, it provides musical saturation and distortion unlike any other device. Abbey Road engineers were known to experiment endlessly with the wealth of original EMI gear at their disposal—pushing the equipment to its limits and reaching “happy accidents”; this plugin captures the very happiest of such accidents. In 1962, EMI Central Research Laboratories patented a tape noise reduction system called the TG12321—a “compander” that compresses on input (encoding) and expands on output (decoding). The first generation of pop engineers at Abbey Road discovered that using the encode-only part of the process resulted in a beautiful high-frequency emphasis that added air and excitement and helped instruments cut through the mix. Pioneering Abbey Road engineers, including Peter Bown and Geoff Emerick, were fans of using the TG12321 in this unusual way. Abbey Road Saturator models the original and ultra-rare TG12321 unit, feeding into Abbey Road’s REDD or TG12345 console preamps, for a one-of-a-kind excited saturation effect. This plugin gives you flexible control over the Compander’s crossover frequencies, allowing it to focus in on different ranges depending on the source material: lower settings will be at home on bass and kick drums, higher values will afford unmistakable shine to vocals. The added phase knob causes the saturation to work in parallel, dramatically altering the personality of the distortion harmonics. The plugin also sports M/S processing options, letting the distortion apply either in stereo or to the mid or sides separately. Activate this beast on drums, drive the centered kick and snare into beefy levels, and leave the sides (overheads and cymbals) clean and sparkling. From subtle harmonic enhancement that helps any instrument poke through a mix, to powerful distortion effects that strip an instrument of its original character and create an entirely new effect—Abbey Road Saturator is a singular twist on what we know saturation and distortion plugins to be. Waves Berzerk is a go-to plugin designed for wild, unhinged and creative distortion and includes 10 all-original distortion shapes, advanced feedback, pitch, dynamics, sidechaining and M/S options for versatile experimentation—plus a “Go Berzerk!” button for randomized, unpredictable distortion sonic madness. Waves engineers started to design Berzerk by first amassing a large array of well-loved distortion units of all types: amps, tube devices, stomp boxes and old analog units. They then went on to develop original custom wave shapes based on their all-time favorite distortion curves. Waves Berzerk includes 10 unique shapes, each with its own personality. Some transform the sound to add grit, dirt and character; others reach unprecedented sonic extremes. The “Go Berzerk!” button creates random variations in each waveshape, letting you personalize the signal. Turn the Density knob to shift the waveshape in amplitude; the unique Feedback section is like an on-board analog synth. It can either run a tunable sine wave through the signal, producing interesting bass lines, melodies or rhythms; or it can oscillate while “riding” the input—think “crazy” synthesized vocal FX. It also includes a Speed knob to shape the groove, as well as octave, pitch, range and blend adjustments—all of which you can sidechain. The Dynamics section sits before the distortion and twists the character of the generated harmonics. The “Up/Down” knob controls a gate/expander, which, after setting the threshold, will affect the range of sound affected by the clipper. The “Rider” option rides the amount of gain hitting the distortion, giving you full dynamic control. Berzerk also offers unique M/S processing, distorting only the mids or just the sides when needed; a master Temperature knob to control the overall color and feel of the output; and an overall mix knob. Waves MDMX Distortion Modules includes three distortion plugins based on musicians’ all-time favorites: SCREAMER, OVERDRIVE, FUZZ. From classic fat round overdrive to freaked-out fuzz flavors, this oversaturated color palette gives you quick access to the greatest distorted sounds you know and love. The MDMX plugins offer serious tweakability: On-board dynamics, EQ and tone controls; “Temperature” controls to tweak overall color and warmth; Mix controls to blend the clean and distorted signals; and M/S processing to distort just the mids or sides of the signal—a great way to fit an instrument into the mix and change the way a sound related to the space around it. Searching through musicians’ all-time favorite FX, Waves has customized three unique-sounding color boxes to create this versatile “plug-n-play” distortion toolkit: SCREAMER: offers a fat, round saturated tone without being spiky—the kind of sound conjured from an overdriven tube amp. It boasts an unmistakable midrange hump in the 470-750 Hz range, delivering a smooth tone that flatters synths, bass, guitars and vocals. Features include: a BOOST knob adding 6 dB of gain in the mids; a TONE control acting like a hi-fi system tilt; a TEMPERATURE control to blend a custom master EQ curve, affecting the “color” and warmth of the overall effect; a MIX knob for blending the distorted and original signals an unique M/S processing options allowing you to overdrive just the mids or just the sides. OVERDRIVE: The most versatile plugin of the trio, this module can add both subtle and not-so-subtle edge to a part. Its soft-clipper musically enhances an instrument, vocal or sample while maintaining the original character. Use it when you need the performance to stand out in the mix without necessarily hijacking center stage. Dialed in more aggressively, it has a pronounced overdrive that can be tailored and tuned for precise results. Overdrive includes two drive types: The first is higher gain with a greater emphasis on low frequencies, and the second focuses on the high end. The compressor section has a Punch mode, which acts as a fixed-ratio compressor with a choice of mild, moderate or extreme; a Rider mode, which acts like a gate and will behave dynamically; and a Blend knob, which mixes the dry signal with the dynamic signal. There’s a low cut on the input to tighten the distortion, a four-band EQ on the output to shape the result, a TEMPERATURE control, which blends a custom master-EQ curve, a mix knob and unique M/S processing options, allowing you to affect just the mids or sides. FUZZ: An aggressive high-gain fuzz effect, customized for maximum flexibility. Fuzz introduces outrageous amounts of saturation, while still allowing you to shape the distortion, synthesize octaves, and take control over the tonal footprint with compression and EQ. This plugin offers two different fuzz flavors. It has a compressor section with similar settings to the OVERDRIVE, and the same four-band EQ. The OCTAVE feature is a pitch-shifter on input pre-distortion. FUZZ shares several other features with OVERDRIVE, including the low cut on input and the mid/sides processing options, TEMPERATURE to control overall color/warmth, a Dynamics section to choose between compressor (PUNCH) and gain rider, MIX to blend the original and distorted signals and M/S processing to control mid/sides separately. Home to countless landmark recordings and pioneering advances in recording technology, the legendary studio complex has a phenomenal history spanning over 86 years, encompassing celebrated work by many of the world’s most famous recording artists including The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Oasis, Radiohead, Sam Smith, Florence + The Machine, Ed Sheeran, Kanye West, Nile Rodgers, Lady Gaga, Frank Ocean, Brockhampton and Adele. Since the score for Raiders of The Lost Ark was recorded at the studios in 1980, Abbey Road has developed into one of the world’s premier destinations for movie scoring. Blockbuster films such as The Lord of The Rings Trilogy, Skyfall, most of the Harry Potter series and the Oscar-winning Gravity feature scores recorded here, while recent projects include Black Panther, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Mission: Impossible – Fallout and the multi award winning The Shape of Water. Additionally, a number of high-profile video games such as Halo 5 and Call of Duty have recorded in-game music at Abbey Road Studios. In Spring 2017, in the biggest transformation since opening in 1931, Abbey Road launched two new contemporary studios - The Gatehouse and The Front Room - making the magic of Abbey Road accessible to a whole new generation of recording artist. The new studios have already played host to artists from James Bay, Jess Glynne, George Ezra, The 1975 and Skrillex to legends like Nile Rodgers and Noel Gallagher plus grime MCs Novelist and Jammer BBK. A new Dolby Atmos Premier accredited Mix Stage also opened in 2017 making Abbey Road the only facility in the UK to offer both scoring and film sound post production, with recent projects including Tim Burton’s much anticipated live action Dumbo and Josie Rourke’s Mary Queen of Scots. Symbolic of the new era, in March 2018, Abbey Road appointed multiple Grammy Award winning producer, guitarist, arranger and composer Nile Rodgers (of The CHIC Organization) to the specially created role of Chief Creative Advisor. The new role sees Nile establish Abbey Road Studios as his primary creative base in the UK and serve as the Studios’ global ambassador within the artist and creative community. The studios house a number of state-of-the-art mastering suites. Recent projects mastered or re-mastered by Abbey Road’s award-winning engineers include music from The Beatles, Sam Smith, Sade, Abba, Krept & Konan, Graham Coxon, Dido, The Police, Goat Girl, Johnny Marr, Roxy Music, New Order, Frank Turner, Rita Ora, Queen, Brian Eno, The Rolling Stones and Novelist’s Mercury Prize nominated debut. Abbey Road Studios is accessible no matter where an artist is located, offering online mixing and mastering, audio products for professional and home studio music producers and live concert recording. In 2016, Abbey Road launched Abbey Road Red, Europe’s first music-focused technology incubator which supports the endeavours of entrepreneurs, researchers and developers. Inspired by the original in-house Record Engineering Development Department of the 1950s to 1970s, the programme is now expanding with in-house R&D activities within the music creation space, including explorations in spatial audio. The Abbey Road Institute is another new initiative, offering vocational diplomas in music production and audio engineering to students at the studio complex in London and state of the art facilities in Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Sydney. Finally, the Abbey Road Shop, located next door, sells exclusive gifts and souvenirs to the 300,000+ music fans who make a pilgrimage to the zebra crossing each year and write on the wall outside the studios. Abbey Road Studios is part of Universal Music Group, the world leader in music-based entertainment. Available in 5-, 7-, and 8-inch bi-amp models, these stylish limited-edition monitors offer the same impressive features as the newly released ROKIT G4s, but with an enticingly different aesthetic. Art and science come together with the new White Noise editions of these professional monitors, taking music and sound creativity to a whole new industry-level. Providing wide, deep and dynamic listening, along with incredible imaging, KRK’s ROKIT G4 studio monitors have been scientifically re-engineered and re-designed from the ground up. They are ideally suited to the way modern artists work—in all genres and environments. The entire ROKIT G4 range features on-board DSP-driven Graphic EQ with 25 settings to help condition any acoustic environment while offering new levels of versatility in a studio monitor—making them the only monitors in their class with an LCD screen to display DSP-driven EQ settings. The flat setting is great for most environments, but low-, mid- and high-frequency presets can be adjusted to help compensate for common trouble spots in different sound environments. This on-board system works in conjunction with the KRK Audio Tools App, available for free on the Android and iOS stores. Additionally, all system elements of the ROKIT G4 monitors are cohesively designed and engineered to work perfectly with their advanced drivers made with Kevlar®, efficient Class D power amplifiers and front-firing port, which offers exceptional low-end extension, punch and flexible room-positioning. These features collectively extend accurate and tight bass reproduction and improve audio integrity while minimizing listening fatigue—offering an overall balanced listening experience. “We have been receiving such positive feedback on the ROKIT G4s and we are excited to expand the range,” says Jimmy R. Landry, Global Director of Marketing, Pro Audio Division, Gibson Brands, Inc. “The unique white finish stylishly compliments any studio environment—it’s a really awesome look. The new G4 range is an incredibly versatile speaker system and is the perfect solution for turning project studios into professional music-creation environments—at a competitive price point.” The ROKIT G4 range features a systematically designed low resonance enclosure for minimal distortion and sound-colorization, and a high-density acoustic ISO foam pad that decouples the speaker from the surface, which minimizes vibration transmission for improved clarity. Additionally, all G4 models feature a newly designed built-in brick-wall limiter, which automatically engages at maximum amp-level to maintain a balanced sound, protect the system and offer better and wider dynamics. ARTURIA RELEASE MAJOR MATRIXBRUTE UPDATE Version 2.0 integrates many user-requested features with a revamp of the sequencer, a 4-fold increase in its modulation capabilities, custom LFO creation, a new preset comparison feature, a “system” mode, and many smaller enhancements and bug-fixes. These new abilities and improved functionality gives MatrixBrute users exciting new creative scope, letting them go deeper into the instrument than ever before, and create sounds that are truly one of a kind. The update is available for free to all MatrixBrute owners, and can easily be installed using the Arturia MIDI Control Center. Find Out More HOW TO UPDATE ? • Connect MatrixBrute to your computer using USB • Open the Arturia MIDI Control Center software (download it for free at arturia.com) • Select MatrixBrute from the dropdown menu • Select Firmware Revision, and Update When updating to version 2.0, your MatrixBrute presets will be automatically converted to the 2.0 format. However, there is no way to convert a 2.0 preset to the 1.0 format. While we are sure you'll love the changes version 2.0 brings, we would advise you to backup your presets before updating your MatrixBrute, just in case you ever want to roll back to version1.0. WHAT'S NEW IN MATRIXBRUTE 2.0 ? Extended modulation capability The original MatrixBrute featured 4 modulation options. The latest update gives you 4 pages of 4 modulations, quadrupling its creative scope! New features for the sequencer A simple but powerful overhaul of the sequencer lets you easily duplicate and delete sections, rotate the sequence, visualize notes in the step, and more. Preset compare mode Ever accidentally written over a great preset? Never again! Make sure your sound is better than the one you’re saving over with the preset compare feature. Preview a slot before you save, and don’t lose patches you love. Totally independent control If you prefer to make system changes without having to connect to a computer, the new update introduces a “system” mode, unlocking all parameters that normally could only be accessed through the MCC software. Create your own LFO Draw your own waveshapes on the matrix, quantize the steps or smooth them out, to truly customize your sound. You can also sync the LFO with triplets or dotted time divisions. Enhancements and bug fixes We’ve listened to MatrixBrute owners, and made things work even better for them. Now real-time recording with legato won’t retrigger envelopes, changing presets doesn’t reset the sync, and many more little improvements. NEED MORE RESSOURCES ? Arturia have created many resources to help MatrixBrute users understand the new update, and take advantage of all the new features. Cheat sheet This quick reference sheet gives you at-a-glance reference for key combos, simple instructions, and essential changes to get you up and running in no time. 14. ALESIS® KICKS EVERY OTHER ELECTRONIC DRUM KIT TO THE CURB WITH NEW STRIKE PRO SPECIAL EDITION 11-PIECE MESH KIT Standard-setting kit features full-sized 20” kick for incredible feel and impact, latest-generation mesh heads for unequalled response and the most capable, versatile Strike module ever. Cumberland, RI USA (November 26, 2019)—Alesis (alesis.com), the world’s leading manufacturer of electronic drums, today announced their new Strike Pro Special Edition 11-piece electronic drum kit with full-sized 20” kick, latest-generation mesh heads and an updated Strike Pro Module with more instruments, kits and versatility than ever before. The full-sized kick gives drummers an unprecedented degree of response and impact—unmatched by any other electronic kit—enabling the Strike Pro Special Edition to absolutely redefine the playing experience and realism for electronic drums. The original Alesis Strike drums were revolutionary, featuring all-new drum and cymbal design. The new Strike Pro Special Edition builds on that legacy, most notably with its full-sized 20-inch kick drum. It looks and feels like an acoustic drum. When drummers sit behind the Strike Pro Special Edition with its full-size kick, the playing and visual feel is fundamentally identical to an acoustic set. There is none of that “electronic kit adjustment” time period that players usually have to deal with. Strike Pro Special Edition’s kick is solid and sturdy, with no wobble. It responds and feels like an acoustic bass drum. It’s ground-breaking. However, there is far more that makes the Strike Pro Special Edition an extraordinary playing experience than just the full-sized kick. To begin with, the Strike Pro Special Edition utilizes all-new latest-generation mesh heads, dual-zone for the snare and all the toms. Their response is faster, more natural and easier-playing than ever before. Drummers will fly over these heads, effortlessly laying down powerful grooves and snapping off crisp fills. These heads won’t fight you; instead, these new Alesis mesh heads are your best ally. The 3-zone Strike Pro Special Edition 16” ride cymbal, 14” crash, and 14” movable hi-hat feel spectacularly realistic: They are covered with a new thick comfortable rubber that creates the perfect blend of feel, control, bounce and volume. The cymbals offer a large bell area for enhanced playability, along with a cool “hammered” look. Plus, these cymbals are much quieter than traditional e-cymbals, perfect for late-night practice sessions when volume needs to be minimized. The new hi- hat in particular sets a new e-standard for fast response, solidity and its amazing ability to convey a deft, subtle touch. Strike Pro Special Edition‘s lugs are attached directly to the shell, exactly like those in acoustic drums. The direct adjustment offered by these lugs is yet another way in which the Strike Pro Special Edition is superior to other e-kits. Strike Pro Special Edition premium Hybrid Birch wood shell snare and toms come in in standard acoustic drum sizes (8-10-12-14”) so drummers instantly feel at home when they sit behind them. Alesis recognizes that aesthetics also play a role in the overall satisfaction and positive attitude with which a musician approaches their instrument. To that end, the Strike Pro Special Edition boasts truly striking black hardware and gold tension rods, along with a brand-new visually-distinctive mesh head design. Looking great while sounding great is a deadly combination. The Strike Pro Module is by far the most versatile and capable module that Alesis has ever offered. A large measure of the amazing playability and character of this kit is due to the expansive sound library with over 136 custom kits made from over 1800 instruments and 45,000 samples. The module has onboard sampling capability, 16GB external card storage, and USB/MIDI connectivity, which you can use in conjunction with your favorite music production software as well as the powerful new Strike Software Editor. With this editor players can assemble their own custom samples into multiple velocity layer and round-robin instruments, piece together the perfect drum kit, and then transfer it onto the module via USB. Every feature and control is incredibly easy to keep track of, thanks to the Strike Pro Module’s 4.3-inch color LED screen, which displays all the player’s settings and choices at a quick glance. It adds up to unprecedented flexibility and programmability, combined with total mastery of the kit’s status. Strike Pro Special Edition: 11-Piece Professional Electronic Drum Kit Latest-generation mesh heads for fastest, most natural response ever Patented Enhanced Articulation System Full-sized 20” kick drum 14” dual-zone mesh snare w/hybrid wood shell 8”-10”-12-14” dual-zone mesh toms w/hybrid wood shells 16” Strike ride cymbal (3-zone) w/full rubber pad and hammer marks (3) 14” Strike crash cymbals w/choke, w/full rubber pads and hammer marks 14” Hi hat cymbals w/full rubber pads and hammer marks Strike software editor for creating your own custom kits and instruments Strike Performance Module with 4.3 color LED screen Over 1800 drum and percussion instruments and 136 Kits 45,000 sample sounds included or load .wav files through included 16GB SD card Premium 4-post steel rack “The Alesis Strike Pro Special Edition elevates the expectation of e-drum kits to a new higher standard,” said John Emrich, Director of Drum Development for Alesis. “The days of saying, ‘Well, it plays pretty well for an e-kit’ are over for good. Now drummers will say, ‘Man! I just love playing this kit!’” The Alesis Strike Pro Special Edition is available now. U.S. pricing is $2,499.00 About Alesis Since the 1985 unveiling of the affordable XT Reverb, Alesis (alesis.com) has led the charge to create inventive electronic products that benefit every stage or studio musician. Guitar loops, synths, pads, bass, drum loops and much more are all included in this Royalty-Free collection. Dry, wet and tail files are also available for added flexibility, as well as MIDI files. Over 95% of this pack was created using an array of the finest analogue synths and drum machines including Linndrum, Boss DR220, SP12, DMX and synths such as Moog Voyager, SH 101, P6, Poly Evolver, and Peak, as well as lots of tape saturation to get that vintage 80's feeling. MIDI Files Included: Like so many other Producer Loops products, 'Summer Disco House' includes MIDI files for the majority of musical phrases heard in each Kit, allowing you to seamlessly mix your favourite synths and samplers with the samples contained in the pack. 21. Rob Papen announces availability of expanded eXplorer 6 software bundle best buy with new additions ECHT, THE NETHERLANDS: virtual synthesizer, instrument, and effect plug-in developer Rob Papen Inspiration Soundware is proud to announce availability of eXplorer 6 — expanding the highly-versatile virtual product count of its all-encompassing software bundle best buy to 25, with the pronouncedly-upgraded Punch 2 continuing to fly the (Dutch) flag for state-of-the-art, speaker-busting, body-rattling drum-based virtual instruments with numerous new and fascinating features, while the all-new XY-Transfer effect plug-in sees the cutting-edge company continuing to think outside of the box as a tailor-made tool for creatively crafting dynamically different sound changes — as of November 22... Now numbering no fewer than 25 highly-versatile virtual synthesizers, instruments, and extraordinary effects, eXplorer 6 pushes Rob Papen’s premier software bundle to higher heights of originality, thanks to two new additions that more than live up to the Dutch developer’s Inspiration Soundware slogan. Starting with the pronouncedly-upgraded Punch 2, the cutting-edge company continues to fly the (Dutch) flag for state-of-the-art, speaker-busting, body-rattling drum-based virtual instruments with numerous new and fascinating features. By building upon the killer combination of drum synthesis/samples and a beats-triggering built-in pattern sequencer that made Punch such a remarkable rhythmic force to be reckoned with in the first place, Punch 2 brings yet more drum synthesis models to the percussive production table. Eagle- eyed fans familiar with its pioneering predecessor’s workflow will see straightaway that it introduces a new main screen, allowing anyone to quickly create new drum kits. Audibly and visually, then, Punch 2 clearly continues along the trailblazing trail taken by its innovative percussive precursor — albeit adding extra punch! Punching well above its (software) weight in the ever-widening world of virtual instruments, Punch 2 adds an ability to import REX files and samples that users can quickly transform into loops of their own making. Moreover, they can map out those REX files or sample slices into individual pads and creatively combine these with the already available sounds and pattern sequencer. Saying that, further editing of REX files or sliced SAMPLE pads is perfectly possible using Punch 2’s flexible FILTER alongside the COMPRESSOR and LIMITER envelopes, which can then be routed into one of four — FX1, FX2, FX3, and FX4 — effects modules. Unshrinking users can even apply granular synthesis to those REX files or sliced SAMPLE pads! While welcomed, with Punch 2 there are almost too many additions to mention! Notable new features worth highlighting, however, include a new MASTER section with EQ, FILTER, COMPRESSOR, LIMITER, and STEREO/MONO controls alongside a layout mixer. Last but far from least, Punch 2 comes complete with an advantageous array of onboard sounds, professionally programmed to allow anyone to get into the groove of their music and productions! Picture a filter bank with 36 different filter types and an X-Y panel that can also be recorded and played back in different ways. Well, cool as that thought may well be when brought to mind, cooler still, Rob Papen has made such creative thinking reality by beneficially bringing the all-new XY-Transfer effect plug-in to the expanded eXplorer 6 bundle. Better still, it can also be used with two other effects, each of which have their own X-Y panel, all of which are then fed into a flexible stereo DELAY! XY-Transfer sees the cutting-edge company continuing to think outside of the box as a tailor-made tool for creatively crafting dynamically different sound changes. Anyone already familiar with Rob Papen’s other X-Y panel-enhanced virtual synthesizers and instruments immediately will feel right at home using it in combination with a cool range of effects, thanks to XY-Transfer! But best of all, the expanded eXplorer 6 bundle’s pleasing pricing matches its eXplorer 5 predecessor, so surely there has never been a better time than today to open your music and productions to the almost limitless creativity on offer with Rob Papen Inspiration Software’s latest and greatest gathering of highly-versatile virtual synthesizers, instruments, and extraordinary effects! eXplorer 6 is available at an attractive introductory price of €399.00 EUR/$399.00 USD from authorised Rob Papen dealers worldwide rising thereafter to a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) of €499.00 EUR/$499.00 USD from authorised Rob Papen dealers worldwide or as a download directly from Rob Papen for those same prices from here: https://www.robpapen.com/eXplorer-6.html (Owners of earlier eXplorer editions can upgrade to eXplorer 6 for €99.00 EUR/$99.00 USD, while options for upgrading to eXplorer 6 are also available to owners of other Rob Papen products.) Suitably inspired, he subsequently released several albums as part of Dutch electronic music groups Peru and Nova — the latter featuring the same members as Peru, but with a more commercial slant — with whom he enjoyed number one hit singles in The Netherlands (Nova) in 1982 and Austria (Peru) in 1988. Peru disbanded in 1993, by which time Rob had already established himself as a sought-after sound designer, creating presets for the likes of Waldorf, Access, Ensoniq, and E-mu, before going on to found his namesake company in pursuit of creating a sound designer’s dream synth. That software dream soon became reality when Rob formed the RPCX (Rob Papen ConcreteFX) partnership with music software developer Jon Ayres to develop new Rob Papen virtual instruments and effects plug-ins, starting with BLUE — an exciting-sounding, self-styled ‘Crossfusion Synthesis’ affair (combining FM, Phase Distortion,Wave Shaping, and Subtractive synthesis into one powerful dream synth) — in 2005.Today Rob Papen soundware defines cutting-edge contemporary music production: powerful virtual instruments and effect plug-ins that intermix innovative design, uncompromising sound quality, and musical, production-grade presets to make tracks truly shine, whatever the musical genre... 22. SonoTone Introduces Symphonic Series Premium Acoustic Guitar Strings The small-batch American guitar string manufacturer engineered its Symphonic series to optimize tonal clarity and tactile responsiveness Allston, Massachusetts, November 22 2019 — SonoTone, the Massachusetts-based manufacturer of boutique, premium guitar strings, has debuted its Symphonic series of acoustic guitar strings, offering serious musicians, hobbyist players and vintage guitar collectors the opportunity to outfit their new, used or vintage instruments with strings formulated to enhance any acoustic guitar. In addition to improving an acoustic guitar's overall sound, players will feel the difference as soon as SonoTone Symphonic series strings have settled in to the guitar. Made with the highest-quality materials available, SonoTone premium strings feature a precision hex core and an ultra phosphor bronze wrap for improved tactile responsiveness. So, whether players use SonoTone Symphonic series acoustic guitar strings for strumming cowboy chords, soloing up and down the fretboard, playing fingerstyle, or all of the above, SonoTone Symphonic series strings remain pliable and vibrant for the entire duration each string-set's lifespan. SonoTone Symphonic series premium acoustic guitar strings feature a precision hex core and an ultra phosphor bronze wrap designed to enhance the tone and feel of any acoustic guitar Now available directly from www.sono-tone.com in the U.S. and in select European countries through Fulfillment by Amazon, as well as in Japan through the manufacturer's distribution partner, SonoTone Symphonic series acoustic guitar strings are available in three gauge sets (11-50, 12-43, 13-56) for $18.99 each. Sound as Grand as a Symphony Orchestra The SonoTone Symphonic series represents the culmination of over three years of experimentation with various materials and manufacturing techniques by SonoTone founder P.K. Pandey. Having spent more than 25 years on a quest for impeccable tone, both as a studio recording engineer and A/V systems design/build engineer, Pandey's journey eventually led him to reconsider the fundamental medium and point-of-contact between the player and the guitar, the material source of the instrument's "voice" — the taut, vibrating metal wires fastened to the bridge on one end and to the headstock on the other — i.e., the guitar strings. Starting from this fundamental level, Pandey tested different metals, amalgams, and manufacturing processes until he eventually found the hard-won formula, known only to him, which at last recreated the vintage tone and feel of the guitars he remembered playing as a kid. Unlike many contemporary, machine-made strings produced in bulk quantities outside the U.S. at mass-market, commodity prices, SonoTone Symphonic strings use only the highest-quality materials available, with additional measures taken throughout the manufacturing process to optimize string behavior, playability, tuning stability and longevity — without using any coatings, so that only the pure elements that make up the string-wire ring out, unencumbered, through the entire body of the guitar. To find out how SonoTone Symphonic series strings will enhance the sound of your own new, used or vintage instrument, please visit www.sono-tone.com for more information.

  25. Analog keyboard collection offers otherworldly sounds and is free for new and existing SampleTank 4 users for a limited time November 21, 2019 - IK Multimedia announces Spaceport '77, the first expansion library for SampleTank 4, IK's newest sound and groove workstation. This collection was designed to give tracks some '70s and '80s sci-fi flavor, made using two keyboards whose names have always sounded suspiciously familiar to fans of a certain galaxy far, far away: the Oberheim® OB-1 synthesizer and the Yamaha® CP-30 electronic piano. This interstellar analog synth and electronic piano collection features sounds from the past, voiced to deliver atmospheric, otherworldly soundscapes, hard-hitting galactic bass tracks and wizard-like celestial leads. Meticulously deep samples of the iconic OB-1 and CP-30 offer classic sounds with true-to-original details to enhance the experience. A great complement to both the modern synth sounds and classic electric piano sounds already in SampleTank 4's library, this new expansion library adds 100 new instrument presets and 3.9 GB of samples, plus pre-programmed control macros and sound effects. Expansive tonal possibilities The combination of the CP-30 and OB-1 creates spacious and timeless tonal possibilities. Electric piano, clavichord and harpsichord timbres from the CP-30 combine with the analog oscillators and filters of the OB-1 layered in as dimensional pads and evolving sweeps. SampleTank 4's onboard filters extend the color palette even further, complemented by its expansive reverbs, otherworldly chorus and phasing effects, with audiophile EQ and compression for a high-end, cinematic sound. OB-1 Spaceport '77 captures the essence of the Oberheim OB-1 monophonic analog synthesizer, designed and manufactured in the late '70s. The OB-1 signal path begins with two discrete oscillators and suboscillators, along with a noise generator. Discrete lowpass filter options include 12dB or 24dB per octave, for both the classic Oberheim 2-pole filter sound and the legendary Minimoog 4-pole filter sound. SampleTank filters can be applied as well. CP-30 The Yamaha CP-30 is an electronic piano from 1976 that uses analog synthesis for its sound generation. Spaceport '77 includes sound selections that simulate the CP-30 Decay control knob being used to simultaneously adjust attack and decay parameters in a way that's similar to a regular synthesizer's ADSR envelope. Two tone-generation systems are also featured, with a choice of independent fine tuning and decay control to create animated electric piano, clavinet and harpsichord sounds complete with their rich character. About SampleTank 4 Available for Mac/PC and iPad/iPhone, SampleTank 4 was designed from the ground up to be every musician's "go to" music creation workstation. It offers a massively expanded sample library (up to 8,000 sounds across 260 GB of samples) and a completely redesigned, scalable/zoomable interface. A new cutting-edge sound engine offers efficient hard-disk streaming and advanced sound design/editing possibilities. The library and sound engine are complemented by innovative dynamic groove "players" (arpeggiator, strummer, pattern and loop player), 13 new effects (for a total of 70), a powerful new Mix window and powerful integration with IK's iRig Keys I/O line. In addition, a re-designed Live mode makes it easier than ever to hit the stage with fingertip-ready controls for live performance and the ability to build an entire set list and create song presets. Price and availability Spaceport '77 is available for free to all new and existing SampleTank 4 users via direct download from now through December 31, 2019 (regular price will be $/€79.99*).
