Members jakkim
There was a custom shop Fender Telecaster, I think it was a 51 or something (was not a 52) all reliced sitting in the corner of their private high end room so I picked it up and WOW. I've heard the term baseball bat thrown around but this thing was more like a log cut in half. This neck had the nicest, fattest profile I have ever felt and I was instantly in love. I have a few super cheap SX copies that are supposed to have fat necks but they have nothing on this tele I played. Does Fender, or anyone else, use this neck on any other models? I like the feel of the neck so much but don't dig the vintage frets and 7.5 radius. I can't remember the exact model either but it was fantastic. I may have to take a look at some Warmoth options as I know they make some fat necks.

Members clay sails
I got an Allparts Fat neck for a strat: it is bigger than any fat neck I've ever played. I was sorta hoping it would feel like the PRS wide-fat that I love so much, but its even heftier. I will never go back...
Members billybilly
Fat necks, for me, give me a lot more endurance as a player. A small neck can cramp my hand up after an hour. Love the fat necks, need one for my strat!
Members cratz2
I've played one of those 1" All Parts neck and it did feel pretty damn fat. I've played a few vintage Fenders that had close to that big of a neck, but not very many. The Jeff Beck strat has a big ole neck and the Baja Tele and the Eric Clapton strats have the V neck which is thick-ish, but nowhere near 1". I'm sure there are few Custom Shop models with the big neck, but I haven't played any other than the Jeff Beck. USACG, Warmoth and All Parts make a 1" thick neck. Members Mudder1310
My Robin Wrangler has a huge neck, bigger than anything I've ever played, and it's the best feeling guitar I own. Love fat necks.
Members neffrocks
I have a 58 reissue VOS Les Paul. I'll never go back to a skinny neck again. I think the added wood gives more tone. And as stated before, no hand cramping for me. The Tele you're talking about I belive is a '51 like you said. SWEET Tele!
Members fabstrat
Was most likely a 51' nocaster
Members David Mitchell
I may have to get one of those after-market fat necks someday. Are there any inexpensive guitars that come with satin-finished, really thick necks?
Members Dave Mack
my brian may model has a VERY fat neck. when i haven't played it in awhile it's freaky
Members Mesa/Kramer
Carvin Holdsworth has the fattest neck I have ever played on.
Members ieso
The G&L 25th Anniversary has one of those huge fat necks but with a 12" radius. Very nice. However, it ain't much of a Tele (except for the body shape) considering it has twin hummers
Members Sandvich
I'm pretty sure it kills your wrist to use those eventually. Same with 8 strings, etc. Your wrist is jus not designed to bend in certain ways. Then again I have a problem with hypermobility so I have to be extra careful. Members megawzrd
Once you go bat... You never go back. lmao nice line. This is true, I think more with age too... I used to think the ibanez wizards were where it was at but over the past five years or so I have been settling on the fatter strat/tele profile as a sweet spot. I could never imagine playing a gibson bat back in the day but now it may just be the next step.
