Members jcoulter
My friend's uncle found this in his grandfather's attic or something, but he gave it to my friend to give to me because he knew I played guitar and all that jazz. It kinda feels cheap, and could definitely use some set-up work, but I can't complain considering the situation. I've searched Google over and over trying to find out any info on this guitar, and I am at a loss, so I'm turning it over to you fellas. I looked all over the guitar for a serial or model number, or perhaps a manufacturer name, but that proved fruitless. Any help would be appreciated! Members D Carroll
In the drumming world, we refer to certain kits as 'stencil' kits, kits made in big factories in the 60's, and 70's sold to the highest bidder, that would be the guitar version of a stencil kit. Members jcoulter
I had a feeling it was something along those lines.
Members wedgehed II
Going by the headstock, I'm guessing the brand name was Crown.

Members Matt Howell
Recording King, probably made by Kay. Not worth much, but interesting. Probably sounds good for slide.
Members Wulver
Looks to be some sort of Japanese import model. Have to wonder how those pickups sound on a hollowbody, not too many semi-hollows have that sort of single-coil.....probably gives you a lot of jangle... I tried plugging it up but all I got is feedback. Probably needs an electronic overhaul.
Members diceman1000
Crown, made by Cor-Tek (Cort)
Members drawdeep
Looks like a generic Japansese import, late 60s-early 70s, likely Matsumoku-made (same company that made Univox, Aria, Kent, etc.). Does the neck plate says "Steel Adustable Neck- Made in Japan"? That is not necesary for the above to be true, but if it is, that is a dead giveaway. Look up Univox Coily or Aria Diamond to see similar guitars of the time.
Members Doctor49
sorry - can't find anything . No crowns or coronets or tiaras....And nothing that makes me think its a Cort or a Kay either. There's a w in the tailpiece as another clue. Members kujozilla
Teisco used to have a crown logo they used. Or could be Royal.
Members Elias Graves
It has a few nice touches. The indicator pointers on the pots, decent inlays.Love to hear those pickups. What's with the tailpiece? Is that set up for some kind of trem?I'd play it, assuming I could make it work.Is the neck straight? EG
Members Brewski
looks like P-90's would fit in that and maybe a good fret job and you have a decent blues box.
Members boxorox
Diceman may have it. If not "King" and "Kingston" come to mind. Did Harmony brand any electrics as "Sovreign's"? They had a crown logo, but of different design.
