Members pixelchemist
Based on the thread from yesterday about wanting less sustain on a guitar to make it a bit more "jangley". what are some mods you can do to accomplish that? not including of the sitar simulator bridges for danos and shoving a bunch of {censored} in the stings prepared guitar style. not something i plan on doing just curious. Members benzem
Use old strings, lower the action, wrap a wristband around the neck, loosen the tuner screws and or neck bolts. That should do it. Or you could lower the guitar volume and amp gain I guess:)
Members trailsofsin
Probably changing the material of the nut (bone vs. graphite vs. corian vs. brass) and bridge saddles (steel vs. brass vs. aluminum?) would have an effect. If the guitar is a string through, switch to top loader/hard tail.

Members mrbrown49
Good answers so far. I'll add raising the tail piece, if it has one, to decrease the bridge break angle, and lowering the pups because that can sometimes have a less compressed sound or more dynamic range. Members Willyguitar
Make the guitar hollow. That will reduce sustain a bit for you. The best guitars are hollow.
