  1. i do sometimes but always end up with a sore knuckle in on my pinky so I usually don't
  2. i thought i wouldn't need it ever at one point... but now i probably play better fingerpicking than with a pick... and don't regret it for a moment
  3. i payed $100 bucks for my 1991 Ibanez SR1000E bass from the original owner... he forgot what model it was (not imprinted anywhere on it) and he owns probably 25 other bass guitars so he googled Ibanez Sound Gear Bass and the first one that came up was a similar looking GSR100 (around $180 bucks new) so he based the price on that. so not stolen but i feel like i stole it.
  4. ... just plugged mine in for the first time in about 10 years. It's a early Taiwanese manufactured revision 2 circuit model with the Rohm BA728N opamp... when used sparingly it can sound really great especially with a compressor in front of it (a Diamond Compressor in this case) Yes it can get really shrill at the extremes but used for a boost and slight dirt it can get some great sounds... I pulled it out initially to tear it apart and do some mods on it... but I think i might keep this one stock and pick up another used one cheap and mod that instead... I know it has a bad rep... but it really doesn't suck as much as people make it out to. The Metal Zone i had in the same box on the other hand... worthless.
  5. I watched it last night... on uhmmm DVD... yeah thats it DVD... great movie... Jack White's guitar tone though... in comparison to the other two... yeck!... what I wouldn't do for a studio space with a view like the edge's setup.. (or his rack and amps)
  6. music is one of three hobbies that I devote alot of time to. The other two are cycling and drawing/sketching/illustration. Though cycling was my life for many years and I would still love it to be a bigger part than it currently is I am a father of 1 (2 next month) and I work ALOT so my time to just go out and ride has dwindled down to nearly nothing (and I am getting fatter by the minute as a result). I do creative for a living so I tend to go to the music stuff more often than not... my visual creative side has been a bit burned out latley. I think its getting close to time for me to think about moving out the area I am in, deal with the lower pay scale in other parts of the country and take up a slower paced life outside of the NYC advertising nightmare. I'm very happy with lots of parts of my life for sure, great house, great wife, great kid(s), great job, etc etc. I'm very fortunate. But I'm killing myself slowly keeping up the pace I am going currently. Tonight is a perfect example... I'll be up until probably 4AM tonight working... it's Sunday night. I'll be in the office at 9AM... work until 9:30-10PM... come home eat dinner, play guitar for an hour or two to unwind, then work some more until probably 2 or 3AM... Long story short... music is keeping me sane.
  7. i suggest finding a friend or family member to hold on to them for you... if the public storage places there are anything like the ones here... they wont be doing well when you come back...
  8. i pricked my finger on a string recently and didn't notice it was bleeding like crazy becuase i was rocking out with my eyes closed playing along to some pink floyd tracks in a mostly dark room with everything cranked... when i put the guitar down the neck had blood all over it...
  9. Good Transaction w/ Pixelchemist (USA Deluxe Strat I sold him, everything went smoothly, good communication, great guy to work with). Likewise... super smooth transaction... please to do business with. +1 for Jonathan Thomas (trade+cash for M13) +1 for Overwhelmed987 (bought my Agile from him)
  10. I turned all my amps up to eleven and through away the knobs... SIGN ME UP
  11. how are you printing these up... if there not waterbased ink based then i may be interested
  12. i own one... it took a little work out of the box to get it playing great... but I absolutely love it... i still need to replace the nut as the one in there isn't cut quite right (open chords are out a little as a result)..
