Steve_man has decided to take a break from managing this list so I offered to take over for a while.

 

This is a place where you can check to see if a forum member has been honest and fair in previous gear deals, before you engage in a deal with them. This is not a definitive 'safe list' it's intended to be a tool to help you and doesn't replace using common sense and good tactics when dealing online.

GOLD TRADERS appears as 5-9 positive transactions (is actually 6-10; first one is just your name on the list)

 

PLATINUM TRADERS appears as 10 or more positive transactions (same as above; is actually 11 transactions)

 

After 21 good transactions your name is bolded and this is the PowerSeller distinction....it could also mean that you should open up your own store.

 

If you are posting multiple transactions, please put them in alphabetical order and be sure to spell the member's name correctly.

 

If you are posting about previous transactions with members, please specify if it's already been tallied. I see a lot of 'greatest hits' type of posts and it makes it a mess to figure out. Just tell me which ones are old and already counted.

 

You cannot request to be put on the list, you have to be referred by another member from this forum within this thread.

EDIT: 07Dec09 In the interest of fairness I thought that I should let people know that I have had several members send me PM's verifying good trades with IndianScout in the past few months. I cannot officially add them to his tally because they aren't posted in this thread; even though I asked them nicely to do it. I have no idea why not, but I bet that it has a lot to do with the attacks that are all but guaranteed to happen.

 

To the best of my knowledge IndianScout has sent out all the items he was supposed to and reimbursed one member for some damage or compensation.

 

Does all of this make up for or nullify the events? Does it mean that the trades are now good? Does it mean that nothing ever happened? How does everyone involved feel after the trade?

 

I don't know and that isn't my job to decide; the list reflects what is reported. I did think that it was important for everyone to know what the latest status was and then you can make your own decisions based on the account of events.

 

But just remember that even if someone has 245 good transactions doesn't mean that something bad couldn't happen either. The list is a tool and nothing more, do with it what you want.

EDIT: 02May09: Appears that the situation hasn't improved and that the first official bad trader post has come. I'm just doing what I am supposed to do and IndianScout is officially on the bad traders list.

 

EDIT: 29Apr09: It's been over a week now and I know that some people have started receiving their items. I am hoping that we will start getting some posts in here about the outcome and maybe we can put this to bed.

 

Original Post: 22Apr09: IndianScout +1 has been temporarily removed from the good traders list. He has been accused of several questionable dealings recently in another thread and even though he hasn't been officially reported here as a bad trader we felt it was best to just move him here until things can be resolved or official complaints or good transaction posts have been made IN THIS THREAD.

 

I am no judge, jury or even a mod, I am here to report what is posted in regards to transactions that have been made here as accurately as possible. I think that in order to do that as fairly as possible that all the bystanders (including myself) need to take a backseat and allow the participants to try to resolve this and then in a week or two we'll see what is posted in here from people that have dealt with him.

 

I am not interested in other threads or people's opinions at this point; the only thing that matters are accurate accounts of dealings that are posted in this thread. It could be on CNN and I am not going to let it reflect in here; moving his name to this post is already close to crossing the line in my opinion, but it was necessary in order to calm the feeding frenzy and mess that this thread would have turned into. I don't know about you guys, but it took me entirely too long to transfer this crap over here to see it cluttered with a lot of he said/she said namecalling that may end up getting it closed.

 

So I am asking politely that in the interest of this thread to relax with all the PM's on this issue. Let the parties involved work out what they can and let them determine if they are happy or not by posting it in here...or not posting anything which would count as nothing.

 

I am aware of the situation and it will be resolved one way or another by the people that have something at stake in it. I just think that it was a matter of bad timing for me to take over the thread right when this situation came up and I don't feel that digging through 30 pages of name calling in another thread is appropriate for me to make my own decision. That's not being an unbiased participant; it's passing judgment which illegitimzes the whole thread.

All right, there has been one person reported/verified so far that somehow got missed in the transition from the old thread. In the interest of accuracy I am going to try to fix any mistakes and get the entire thing done.

 

However, I am not going to check everyone individually because I don't get paid enough, but you should know what your rating should be. If it is wrong, open one of the original threads in the first link and do a search for your name (as text, not by username) to see how many feedbacks you've gotten. Copy that link and send it to me in a PM and I'll fix it.

 

Just remember that if you've got +4 as a rating that is actually 5 positive feedbacks; the first one is counted when your name is posted.

Just so that you know you weren't officially placed on the bad traders list (which is why I moved it to a seperate post), you just aren't on either one. I wanted to explain what had happened to your name for everyone who was interested; including you. Perhaps I should have just PM'd you now that I think about it, but there were some other people that were interested as well.

 

...and this wasn't something that I came up with on my own, it was brought up and discussed and we thought that this would be the fairest scenario until things are resolved.

the fairest scenario???, when I had 40+ transactions that were never even listed on the other list.. to me it makes the list invalid and pretty much worthless.. no offense..

None taken, I have more than a few that never got reported either and unless someone posts them in here I won't be able to count them; it's the only fair way to do it. It isn't perfect and it is based entirely on people taking the time to share their experiences.

 

With that said I'm going to ask politely that the discussion on this particular topic not end up taking this thread over; it was a real pain in the ass to get this set up to begin with and I'd hate to have it cluttered more than it needs to be with discussions. I got my first taste of managing this sucker today and I understand why steve_man bailed on it; it's a frickin chore. Please don't make it harder than it has to be.

 

Post the outcome of the situation in here and I'll be more than happy to update the list accordingly.

 

And no, I am not going to put IndianScout on the bad traders list until at least a week or two has passed and there has been a reasonable amount of time to hash things out and let people cool off for a few days. I know what the situation is and I can see the points made, but I am no judge and I don't want to be put in a situation like that.

 

If things are still screwed up in a few weeks then it's a no brainer; I just don't want to be rash on blacklisting anyone here. This isn't a threat or even a suggestion, it's just what I am going to do based on my opinion of the whole deal.
