I know what you mean. I've always prefered his gibby tone though, which is odd for me. I'm usually drawn to strat tones but his just doesn't do it for me.

problem with that is that it looks too bright and clean compared to the original. If I got that I would relic it in some way or make the paint not so bright with some paint remover
