Members songsforbears
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa... What is that? Partsocaster? I absolutely adore Fender's Candy Tangerine and was hoping this was a model in that finish.

That's a fine collection - I have a strat and a tele but I need to get myself another Fender amp somewhere down the line. Members BlackCat
So how are you guys liking the Princeton Reissues? I may be on the market of an amp soon and I was considering a DRRI but a PRRI could also be a contender.

Members fiveoclockhero
Since this is now more about everybody posting their Fenders and not very much about the OP, I'll join in, I guess... Squier Classic Vibe 50's Tele I went away from guitar playing and now I'm coming back and starting my "collection" over again. I will never have a "pile" but I sure like yours. Members MyNameIsMok...
It took me a loooong time to be lulled away from teh Gibson and see the light. Now I have been known to play a Tele or two though a tweed amp of some sort.

Members MyNameIsMok...
When I first saw this pic I gassed so hard I went out and hunted one down immediately. First time I ever saw a pic of a guitar that actually was more awesome that seeing it in person. 50's Hot Rod Telecaster This isn't regular porn, this is hardcore stuff that only a full grown man can appreciate. Members honeyiscool
Jazzmaster stock is rising rapidly as we speak. It's killing me because Jazzmasters are so expensive on the used market. And I don't mean the MIM Jazzes. I have no problems with MIM but until they start making proper offsets with 7.25" bodies, count me out. Mustangs and Jags are still affordable, thank goodness. People don't like shortscales because they want to feel manly with full sized instruments. That's my theory. Me, I have small hands and I like high actions and with short scale, you can have high action AND low tension, you can have your cake and eat it too. Members benzem
benzem - Of the amps you originally posted, which is your favorite and why? Could you describe their unique tonal characteristics? Which ones have the best natural distortion and do you like the Hot Rod's Drive channel? (a hotly debated issue, apparently) I'm trying to get a bead on the basic traits on the major Fender amps and it seems you own a few of them. Thanks for asking. No fav really, maybe the twin by a nose over the HRD. Maybe. I gigged the HRD for 8 years w/o a hitch! Often setting it atop my Marshall 4x12 1960 cab, making a 6x12(3/4) stack! Fantastic amp. That's why I have kept it, even after getting the Twin and also switching to a Carvin 3-channel head for gigs. But, after recently pulling the HRD out of retirement and setting it up as in the pic, I would be more than happy to go back to gigging it w/a decent multi-fx or a few stomps. It also sounded amazing, and gave me the idea of doing a comparison vid/thread(HRD/Twin). The HRD is prob my best gear purchase ever. I bot in '98, never retubed:facepalm:! I recommend this amp HIGHLY! The HRD dirt channel is ok. And can be really good when cranked up a little, eq'd right and add a overdrive and it'll do the singing lead thing all day. It's not a great rhythm dirt IMO, and the fact that it shares an eq w/the clean makes it less than ideal for channel switching. Both the twin and HRD are tough to get natural dist. Just so loud. BUT, I was suprised that the twin does start to break up around vol 5 and if you can turn it to 7-8 it's crunchy and ballsy and w/guitar vol knob use just awesome for dynamics. TBH, I need to check the HRD for such info, as I usually set it to about 2 1/2. Both amps have amazing clean tones that make you WANT to play clean. BTW, they are not really clean, as opposed to a solid state clean. They have compression that makes clean leads/legato possible. And SO dynamic. Esp. the HRD, you can go from low vol to ouch with pick attack! I could go on forever on these. I love them so much:cry: The blues jr is a little beast! I thought I may be able to crank it a little for recording but it's really more of a small gig amp! I have turned it up to vol(gain) 7, master all the way up, and blasted a few friends ears and watched their jaw drop. I also have run it thru my Mesa 2x12 w/V30's with stellar results. 15 watts! Holy crap! The princeton gets some great clean sounds, and is suprisingly loud and very lightweight. Also very punchy and tubey. Great grab and go to jam amp. The dirt is kinda over the top and a little fizzy, SS style. But eq'd right it's ok. I am gassing for a bassman head, as I played my friends at a a gig once and loved it. It would be great for my set-up as I could use two heads and vary cabs depending on the gig. So, I might make the vid but it would not be a vs. kind of thread. More, just to show how great they both sound, you know? All good.

Beautiful guitar, even more so in person. Great neck and the nitro shows off the color/woodgrain so well. Cratz- Love the Gilmourish strat and the Tangerine one is sweet! Also, nice amps. How do you like the Supersonic? I have not played one. SK8- Love that bass! Thought I had a pile, but now it's looking light:)
