Uh oh, I hadn't realized I have a Fender pile.

My wife had implemented a strict "No More Red Guitars" policy. Apparently, I'm destroying the decor of this room or some such. I broke the policy with that Tele Saturday.
:)
I love my wife.

Thanks, Leo!
:thu:

Now I gotta go spread this stuff back around the room, so it doesn't look so much like a pile!

Nice pile! Cool amps!!!!

Are we allowed to post pics of Squires here??

Do it! I posted two!

BTW, the black one w/white pups('85 mij contemporary) is a sleeper. I have got a pearly gates in the bridge, Lace sensor neck. Also, the 3-toggle sytem is cool. Off/on for each pup and a coil split for the hum. AND, 22 frets with a 24 3/4 scale! Very nice guitar.

Thanks for asking. No fav really, maybe the twin by a nose over the HRD. Maybe.

I gigged the HRD for 8 years w/o a hitch! Often setting it atop my Marshall 4x12 1960 cab, making a 6x12(3/4) stack! Fantastic amp. That's why I have kept it, even after getting the Twin and also switching to a Carvin 3-channel head for gigs. But, after recently pulling the HRD out of retirement and setting it up as in the pic, I would be more than happy to go back to gigging it w/a decent multi-fx or a few stomps. It also sounded amazing, and gave me the idea of doing a comparison vid/thread(HRD/Twin). The HRD is prob my best gear purchase ever. I bot in '98, never retubed:facepalm:! I recommend this amp HIGHLY!

The HRD dirt channel is ok. And can be really good when cranked up a little, eq'd right and add a overdrive and it'll do the singing lead thing all day. It's not a great rhythm dirt IMO, and the fact that it shares an eq w/the clean makes it less than ideal for channel switching.

Both the twin and HRD are tough to get natural dist. Just so loud. BUT, I was suprised that the twin does start to break up around vol 5 and if you can turn it to 7-8 it's crunchy and ballsy and w/guitar vol knob use just awesome for dynamics. TBH, I need to check the HRD for such info, as I usually set it to about 2 1/2. Both amps have amazing clean tones that make you WANT to play clean. BTW, they are not really clean, as opposed to a solid state clean. They have compression that makes clean leads/legato possible. And SO dynamic. Esp. the HRD, you can go from low vol to ouch with pick attack!

I could go on forever on these. I love them so much:cry:

The blues jr is a little beast! I thought I may be able to crank it a little for recording but it's really more of a small gig amp! I have turned it up to vol(gain) 7, master all the way up, and blasted a few friends ears and watched their jaw drop. I also have run it thru my Mesa 2x12 w/V30's with stellar results. 15 watts! Holy crap!

The princeton gets some great clean sounds, and is suprisingly loud and very lightweight. Also very punchy and tubey. Great grab and go to jam amp. The dirt is kinda over the top and a little fizzy, SS style. But eq'd right it's ok.

I am gassing for a bassman head, as I played my friends at a a gig once and loved it. It would be great for my set-up as I could use two heads and vary cabs depending on the gig.

So, I might make the vid but it would not be a vs. kind of thread. More, just to show how great they both sound, you know?

All good.

Wow, that's super informative! :thu: Thank you, sir!

Feel free to discuss Fender amps all you like. BTW - You make me want a Hot Rod. And videos are always good! You can be the next docjeffrey, posting awesome videos of gear that we are jealous of. :D

Cool amp/cab! Makes that a lot more portable.

:thu:

Yeah, the Super had already been cut in two when I got it. At the time I was driving a little Ford Escort wagon and it really did help in transporting the thing to have it in two pieces. Of course, it's lighter that way, in that you can make two trips with only half being carried at a time, but it also could be fit into a lot tighter spaces because it was made of two smaller pieces that could be moved around instead of one 4x10.

I suggest getting one now before they too jump the hipster shark and break $1000.00. I have considered stockpiling silverface Bassman heads, but alas, I have already said too much.
