Members photon9
How do you play a guitar in C#? I can't imagine it -- does it go "Thud" or "Thwack"??? A lot of metal bands are playing in C lately. I'm sure there's a few already playing in B or lower... There's a reason even adherents call it "chugga chugga". Members Mel Cooley
Most are in standard. The Hamer P-90 Special (a good go-to guitar for assorted rock/roots/country) is a half step low. I have one of my Teles set a whole step low that also has a Hip-Shot "D"-tuner on it so I can change the tuning to Dropped C on the fly. I saw Bill Kirchen doing this in liu of a baritone guitar once and it sounded wicked (easy on the attack though). With the D tuner up you're a full step down and sound like DBT. Members cratz2
Most of mine are tuned to E standard and I keep one tuned to Eb for learning songs recorded in Eb. I have one tuned to D standard and I used to have one tuned to C standard, but those are both more for a quasi baritone experience, not for chugga stuff.
