Members bjcarl
Wow. You know you've gotten old and/or lame when you didn't buy, and can't even name a new album in 2012.So I'm gonna say:1. Give 'em Enough Rope-The Clash2. Jailbreak-Thin Lizzy

Members ElectricEye
There's a been a LOT of great new albums coming out in the rock world, but I have to throw my hat behind a fairly unknown band from Australia called Teramaze. I discovered them b/c the guitarist s a member at the EBMM forums and I checked out some of their YouTube vids. I bought the album back in March and I've been unable to stop listening to it. It's progressive metal, with real vocals, no cookie monster crap. One of the best metal albums I've heard in years. And the lead guitarist is an animal. My special mentions go to Joe Bona's "Live at the Beacon Theater" CD/DVD.

Members d_dave_c
A few things I really liked have already been mentioned - The dB's, Jack White, Avett Brothers. Also: Hacienda - Shakedown (combine Wilco with the Beach Boys and add some jalapenos) The Coup - Sorry to Bother You (Funky hip-hop ala the Roots with Rage Against the Machine's attitude) Redd Kross - Researching the Blues (just good ol' garage Rock n' Roll) Off to check out Arliss Nancy on Spotify... I really like it. You could argue it was one of the best metal albums of '12.
