Members poomwah
Not yet, that's tomorrows job, then hopefully glued and clamped by tommorrow night neat! are those pieces surface-planed?
Members solderjunkie
Not yet, that's tomorrows job, then hopefully glued and clamped by tommorrow night I would glue them first... then thickness-plane the whole body at once. That will ensure even-ness at the glue joints.

What he said. Lots of passes in small incriments so you are less likelyto chip or blow anything out.
Members poomwah
Ohhhhhhh, I'm a dumbass, I thought you meant the surfaces where the joints would be, lolThe top surface is ready, its actuall thinner than the rest of the body. There will be another piece glued on top of it to take up the difference giving the black center section a pronounced "ridge", sorry for the poor description but it will make sense later lolThanks for the advice guys

Members Super Bass
Lookin' good so far. If I was gonna do this I'd probably go the same way. Actually I was thinking about doing a similar thing if I ever found an SB with a lot of damage to the body. I'd turn it into this... Barry Devlin's (Horslips) Shamrock Bass It originally had some RIC type pickups back in the 70's. I5oNd6RziDo
Members y-o-y
This project appears to be going much better then I expected based on the threads and posts leading up to the initiation of the massacre. I hope it ends well.

Members poomwah
I would have loved to have done it differently and used an epibird neck, but I am not about to cut up a tbird. I do however have a tbird neck, bridge, and pickups. If this project is a success (and I don't see why it won't be), I may build an explorer body and have someone rout it for the tbird parts

Members bbl
To Kill a Mockingbird is one of those rare examples of a amazingly-good book followed by an even better movie. Gregory Peck IS Atticus Finch. Or visa versa. Scary good performance.
