Members sundowner
Hi guys. Im looking into bass guitars in the $1000 or so price range. Id like a passive, 4-string, w/ a narrow neck. I play in a band that plays primarily originals so im interested something with versitile range and tone. I play a Epiphone T-Bird currently and it has went down hill drastically in the last year. And honestly it never fit my taste completely. Any advice or success stories on the same subject are gladly appreciated. RoCk On!
Members P79Master
Although it's new, this looks like something you might want to try:http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/fender-nate-mendel-precision-bass
Members perrydabassman
I am a huge fan of the MTD Kingstons, but they are all active IIRC. Beautifully built basses though, lightweight, with great tonz.
Members lz4005
Passive, 4 string, narrow neck equals Fender Jazz bass to me.There are several models between $800 and $1200.

Members rochester steve
Look for a used German Warwick Corvette. Should run about $700. You can't beat it.

Members VoodooBrotherBass
I just picked up a Limited Run USA Made Gibson Explorer. $899. There are still a few available online. The bass is amazing. The only thing I have done is order a Hipshot Supertone Bass Bridge to replace the Gibson floating three point bridge.
