You're based in B'ham, I take it? I was in 2 Southeastern Attractions bands in the 80's, The Cartoons and Radio Berlin. Practically lived at Louie's and The Nick (and actually lived not too far from either.)

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

Well, my name is Jon, 38(also known in these parts as Tuck) and I normally play for several bands, but I'll only introduce one of them since it's the only one with a website.

I play keyboards in band called Mind Sky. Our music is best described as symphonic, progressive rock in the same vein as Yes, The Flower Kings, and Genesis. We do mostly originals, but we also do a few covers from The Flower Kings and UK, as well. The band has been together for about 5 years now, I've been with them for about 2 years. Our outfit consists of a vocalist, a drummer, a bass player(who also plays Taurus pedals), a guitarist, and I play alongside another keyboardist. Our website is at www.mindskyband.com. We recently released a CD called, "Timewise". Please PM me if interested in a copy.

My name is Josh (username - lol) and I'm in a band called Falls Forward.

We're based out of Flushing, NY. We're just a basic 3-piece band playing straight-up rock music, kinda like the Foo Fighters, Fuel, Eve 6, etc.

check us out at www.myspace.com/fallsforward

BTW Lee, thanks for setting this up. We've been clamoring for a dedicated forum like this for a while.

How is it I've gone this long and never seen a photo of you?

Now I can call you "Mark!"

Because I discourage people from taking my photo. One of my stock lines is "I'm a vampire, don't waste your film" but now that all the cameras are digital. nobody cares. frown.gif

And sure, you can call me Mark but all my mates actually call me Burgess, always have.

We are The Pontiac Blues Band. No, we're not from Pontiac, Michigan nor are we sponsored by GM. The Pontiac Blues Band was conceived in 1984 by friends from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin who decided to create a fun musical outlet for themselves. One of the first tunes the band rehearsed was the Sonny Boy Williamson classic 'Pontiac Blues'. While practicing, it came out that Harp player Warren owned a 1970 Firebird. Bassist Ron also owned a classic Pontiac and Drummer Vic had owned a '65 Catalina convertible. Since all of the members were Pontiac fans, what other name could they pick? After a few personnel changes and 20 years of fun band experiences, The Pontiac Blues Band consists of:

Paul Williams on Guitar/Vocals

Vic Tomasello on Drums

Ron Frost on Bass/Vocals

and

Bud Farr on Piano, B3 and Vocals.

From our humble beginnings as a West side Chicago-style Blues Shuffle band, we have morphed into an amalgam of everything soulful with a wide repertoire of original and cover tunes that include Blues, Soul, Jazz, Funk and Rock music. Our primary goal is and has always been to play to the song with as much passion and energy as possible.

We began with the goal of playing occasional weekends but our popularity in the club and festival scenes grew and by the mid-90's we were playing 10-12 gigs per month. The demands on family, day gigs and sanity began to show so we pulled back and currently play 2-4 shows per month sticking mostly to clubs. It's a good thing and allows us to explore the passion within ourselves and our music.

Hey all!

In the interest of getting to know one another, tell us about your band! Name, where you're located, style of music, originals or covers, what your role in the band is, anything else you'd care to share. Links to your web site or music are cool, too.

I play in hard/heavy rock band called Lyka Champ. We're out of Augusta, Georgia and have been playing around the southeast college circuit for about 5 years now.

We'll do Tool, Muse, Alice In Chains, STP, Our Lady Peace, Fall Out Boy, etc... all sorta {censored}ed up covers.

We're about half covers half originals. Our CD is available in its entirety for FREE DOWNLOAD on our website as are some live concert videos of us around various places.

We're Station Wag, and we play rock music. We're a five piece; two guitars, bass, vox and drums (I gets to play lead). Been together for two years now, and it's still a blast playing music. It's a struggle getting together once a week for practice sometimes, but we're all hanging in there.

Here's link:

My band is made up of 1/2 way over the hill suburbinites making fools of themseves for fun and/or profit.

We play the same bunch of re-hashed cover tunes everyone else plays. In fact, we all move so little during a show, we make Bill Wyman look like Richard Simmons.

Some of the older band Members are on drugs. (Lipitor, Viagra, prozac, various blood pressure medications)

I'm the "baby" of the bunch (37). Here's our mega-expensive website http://8trackmind.homestead.com/

Nice to meet you all.
