Members Howie22
I'm playing a Mardi Gras party later this month. Now, I don't need to turn myself into a zydeco act or anything, but a few cajun-type songs would be cool. I already play Jambalaya. I've done Adalida in the past, and can work it back up. I may work up a version of Buffett's I Will Play For Gumbo. What are some others?

Members Howie22
Probably should have clarified more. I'm not playing at or anywhere near Mardi Gras. Rather, I'm simply playing a Mardi Gras themed party. These people know nothing of the real traditions or culture, it's just an excuse to have a party and wear beads. So, I think anything too authentic would probably be lost on this crowd. Rather, I'll need popular songs with a cajun flair. Oh, also, easy songs! I'm just a strummer and singer. I'll check out the suggestions so far.
Members dboomer
I just don't think of Mardi Gras in New Orleans as cajun. I do realize it is celebrated in other places than the Big Easy. Watch a couple episodes of Treme

Rockin' rockin' tune.or"You Never Can Tell" by Chuck Berry or Emmylou Harris.

Play some N'Awlins music. Neville Bros. Funky Meters, Rebirth Brass Band, Professor Longhair, Fats Domino. Yeah, watch "Treme" for some ideas.
