Members DeepEnd
DeepEtte's boyfriend is into pedals and rather than trying to buy him one I figure I can give him a power supply for the ones he already has. I don't use effects other than what's built in to my amp so I need advice. So is this worth buying? www.ebay.com/itm/335100112648?hash=item4e0585ef08%3Ag%3AEtAAAOSw2EdlQ0RY&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4IanTwJ3SJj5Qxhf3HIfDG2BatZ8Y0UCGe%2FUtw1NlDF5vEdfp9YammEuPlXaws0x1B3T2Hpw6HRHmeHAptfjiGe2g%2BUfbXoBfHm1DLbhcezoTIQ1acgAN8sQywcgv60fc9PFIJjuYrHY0D0qU%2F7jFdkNNjjmeRpUpgBia85%2FCd9ppGulcy%2F0Wp%2FL%2FV74ahfYcfzL1l%2FbovDme5Jave1oklvtPoVhgYZY4OVzOJS9fApGAv1vDquklMsNKeeiolkStUWfAXATiYhx%2F3O%2FKtVonDCDh6N6uXM6DI7gQ5LUne6L%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5jNk82HYw&LH_ItemCondition=1000 If not, is this? www.ebay.com/itm/285560824890?hash=item427cc0643a%3Ag%3AAgIAAOSwD%7ENlVSXa&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4HBNBRbLZeGnD8JbIltIagGs6epn0%2Bm3i5vBtG9sBbccU%2FP%2B2lA7PQqJraIPyYwCL%2F7fy41uPesJujIKD4zYT2BpiavCn9p1aKSrJrXAJ6BbxOsIXj6cuXDIwBJ%2BJRG6ByPQMRKJfnJw8W3w54fhMyHAogDCTjSFgh2Qxc%2FnnZZbqFMSO1vloFTllmqTQqHOsLpP5m%2FEyDkHiFaSI4gAK%2Fp8mLDsmg1bBUvCZEWDzlL8sqqntvIYNPKn4cNqtNQy8vIADKGpC7ERUTs17M9nDZax5kilWLNsdjU9BeN3Q6Vz%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR_60_cyHYw&LH_ItemCondition=1000 If neither, I'll give him socks. 😉 Thanks in advance. Members badpenguin
Ok... first one I questio0n. Where is it getting it's power from? Looks like the USB port. Does it need a 2a 5 volt supply? Doesn't seem to come with one. The second one, Ok, has a wall jack for power, but it's all 100 milli amp jacks. Some of my pedals go from 100 milli amp to 3 a. And the higher ones need the extra ampage or they don't work right. These have a few more options. Moderators daddymack Posted December 7, 2023 Moderators Share Posted December 7, 2023 Yeah, without knowing what pedals and how many, I would go with bp's first choice....Power Supply For Guitar Effect Pedals 10 Isolated Outputs 9V 12V 18V | eBay you can buy it for me if you don't want to 'risk it' for him.... That appears to be what powers it. Not something I've seen up to now but who knows? Right now it looks doable but I'm still open to suggestions.

The cable that it shows, and I assume comes with, is a 2 ended USB male.

Deep, take a closer look at the cable on the left...definitely a USB/USB...I honestly don't think anyone would make a USB to a dual prong AC...USB is not designed to carry AC current. So you could certainly use that USB with the charger converter from a cell phone...but the fact that they do not show [or apparently offer] an AC/DC converter is pretty 'el-cheapo'.... Yeah, I should've known better. On closer examination you're right. Apparently you're expected to power it with a phone charger? The input is rated 2a @ 5v so 10 Watts for best operation? AFAIK most chargers don't put out that much power so beyond "cheapo," just not a good idea. I ended up buying one of these. With any luck he'll like it and if he doesn't it's returnable.

I have a couple of Donner mini pedals that work fine...that looks pretty good for $30! USB out, plus 12V and 18V...if he doesn't like it, he probably should not be involved with your daughter!😉
