Members ksl Posted May 12, 2023 Members Posted May 12, 2023 Greetings... My plan is to put a Morgan chassis I have, thus converting this here cabinet into a combo... I have a friend with all the possible tools, and the question is if I daintily pull back the tolex from the area where the cutout will be, after a clean route, one should be able to re-affix the tolex & avoid a butchered looking amp? Done right, it should come out alright...? Thnx Quote
Moderators daddymack Posted May 12, 2023 Moderators Posted May 12, 2023 yes...but getting the tolex off the original surface NEATLY can be a PITA. Quote
Members badpenguin Posted May 12, 2023 Members Posted May 12, 2023 Good luck with that! It's surprisingly easy to have the tolex act like tissue paper and rip. Buy some and have some on hand for repairs. 1 Quote
Members alexiv Posted May 5, 2024 Members Posted May 5, 2024 (edited) Any updates on this one? Were you able to repair it? Few days ago i've seen a similar cabinet on the mainstays website, maybe there is a point to get a new one, when the old can't be fixed? Anyway, let us know how it goes. Members ksl Posted June 2, 2024 Author Members Posted June 2, 2024 I eventually DID find an incredibly well built gomno shell that perfectly matches the amp's top panel,, I slapped an old antique badge on there~ Thnx all Sorta serendipitous😏ॐ💃 Quote
