Moderators daddymack Posted August 7, 2021 Moderators Share Posted August 7, 2021 what is your rig? If all you want is a one button/one knob, 'set it and forget it' simple boost, I like my TC Spark Mini. They run about $50 used. Plus a good quality isolated power supply unless you already have a daisy chain.

I wonder if these one-question-and-never-return "posters" are search engine "bots" or something. Maybe just some poor intern at MXR's "social media" team trying to gauge name recognition for their products. Besides EVERYONE knows the best ever boost ever is the GOLD HORSEY KLON! For at least a couple of years, one of our local (Dallas, TX) Guitar Centers had a gold Klon pedal in their used effect display case, priced somewhere around $3,500 as I recall. It's not listed in GC's used gear database, so maybe it sold. Hi, Jodi!!

Members 1001gear
I have a 20 dollar Kokko boost. Not a lot of clean output but it has active treble AND bass. Active bass knobs should be on all pedals. On the cautions of a certain mod, I gots a second one for a spare.
Moderators daddymack Posted August 8, 2021 Moderators Share Posted August 8, 2021 I finally traded my Kokko compressor....as a one trick pony, it did what the original MXR Dynacomp did best: fatten up sustained notes. But we have come to expect more 'squish', nearly 50 years later...😎 I replaced it with a Malekko. More, I dunno, 'width'[?] for lack of a better term...and not 'in your face' compression, nicely evened out across the tonal spectrum of chords, but solidly behind single notes...'focus' maybe[?] I pulled that pedal board out a few weeks ago, have not plugged it in, but it looks good
