Members mnewb1
I know recording doesn't get much attention here, but... here is a new original track I just finished, Drifting Toward Sleep
Members hellion_213
Nicely done! Dig the guitar tone.
Members Bucksstudent
I liked everything but the drum machine. Your voice and guitar playing were suitable for the song, though I think the guitar was mixed a little loud. Overall, it's good, though. As long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters. Members badpenguin
I agree with Buck on the mixing, and yeah, the drum machine wasn't the best. But I enjoyed it overall, reminding me of Sisters of Mercy.
Members mnewb1
My programming of drums is certainly my weak point...I will have to work on that one
Members Bucksstudent
Try Beatcraft. There are free drum machine apps on iPhone and iPad too. Any 808 simulator is a good start.
Members mnewb1
I used an EZdrummer rig and I programmed beats...I think where I might have gone wrong was putting processing on top of a processed sample
Members Bucksstudent
I think my problem was that the drum track sounded generic and obviously like a drum machine; almost like it was a preset of the program you used. Using warmer tones, like an 808 provides, helps it sound more professional, IMO.
