Members Anderton Posted July 15, 2016 Members Posted July 15, 2016 Apple may be looking to buy Formula One's commercial rights. This article explains why it might be a fit with Apple TV, but the main buzz is that it's all about the Apple Car. Would YOU buy an Apple car? I certainly wouldn't touch the first generation, but who knows...Apple put the Mac on the map by saying it was "the computer for the rest of us." Maybe they'll push "the Tesla for the rest of us..." or maybe they'll give away a free Apple Watch with every car purchase
Phil O'Keefe Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 What would make an Apple car different than other cars? That would determine my level of (dis)interest. In other rumors, I heard that Apple might buy Tidal. I don't know how true that is, or even if it makes any sense or not.
Members UstadKhanAli Posted July 15, 2016 Members Posted July 15, 2016 I have no idea what an Apple Car would look like or do, but I certainly wouldn't be the first regardless. Actually, I've never owned a new car anyway, so I'm never the first one to have a car regardless. Here's a Mac Rumors "description" of what Apple Car may or may not be: http://www.macrumors.com/roundup/apple-car/
Members Mandolin Picker Posted July 15, 2016 Members Posted July 15, 2016 For it to be a true Apple car , the only color available will be white with black trim and a white interior (of course it will come in other colors, you simply won't be able to afford them nor will Apple authorize you to have them). You will only be able to get your electricity from an Apple authorized retailer that has the Apple only connection that does not work with any other vehicle. You will only be allowed to install authorized Apple accessories that are only available at authorized Apple stores and Apple will decide whether you are allowed to install them on your Apple vehicle. You must also obtain permission from Apple before you can put any of your own stuff in the Apple car. And any repairs will only be available through the Apple Genius bar. Of course you won't really own your own Apple car, you will simply pay for a license to use it, and Apple reserves the right the brick your Apple car at any time for any reason. No thanks!
Members Etienne Rambert Posted July 16, 2016 Members Posted July 16, 2016 iPad is a great gadget. I don't want anything else Apple manufactures. (Typed on a Windows 2 in 1 tablet.)
