So, since you're personally attacking me again allow me to respond: you're a selfish troll - gnawing at the system for the sake of gnawing in an effort to provide an inking of pleasure in a world clouded by your overbearing ego and hate for people who you deem are less intelligent. You see this forum as a game reserve and you the hunter.

I know people just like you - my best friend went and got his PhD and become an arrogant, pompous, self-centered ass. Considering we were both arrogant, pompous, self-centered asses prior to that, that's saying something!

Well, sometimes, when your arguing with someone who is not interested in any kind of nuanced argument, but immediately distorts and dismisses anything you say, you reach a point where you say, 'why bother'. What y ou say above, is again, totally out of line. I don't hate anyone here, though you seem to be making a pretty grand attempt to elicit that emotion.

'gnawing at the system for the sake of gnawing' - ooh, that hurts. Maybe I'm hungry, d'ya ever think of that?

No, sorry - I actually believe what I'm saying. You talk about being obsessed with this discussion? Well, stop attacking ME, and anyone who doesn't see it your way, and it would be easy to drop it.

And I do like DB. Nice, intelligent guy. I disagree with him on this issue.

To post these incredibly obnoxious responses, I have created separate rooms in my apartment. One is for whiney responses, one is for semantic quibbling, one is for personal insults, and one is my pride and joy, the 'gnaw for the sake of gnawing' room.

what in the heck.

the guy posted a comic about innapropriate subject matter and he got banned.

how is that a problem? does that really upset some of your people's 'convictions' about free speech so much?

i think some of you are trying a little too hard to be counter-cultural and awesome.

We should call this thread Making the Banned.

"Diddy means business. He proved that last year, when he selected only three girls to be in his next all-girl pop group. Aubrey, Aundrea and Malika had the talent to advance to the next level. Now we get to see how far that talent will take them."

Thanks Birdie!! I can't remember that last time anyone called me "mysterious" or "magical". :)

Regarding Irish Acts, I must (once again!!!) correct one of your feeble attempts to say something about me which is simply not true. You know, if you continue stating these falsehoods about me, I am going to start believing that you are doing it on purpose! (i.e. purposely telling lies)

If memory serves me, you personally have made the following false accusations about me:
-- You stated I work for Korg (I do not)
-- You stated I work for Sweetwater (I do not)
-- You then stated that I must work for some "viral marketing" company hired by Korg/Sweetwater (I do not)
-- You claim I have OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) [i do not -- or, at least it has not yet been diagnosed :) ]

Have I left anything out?

When will these personal attacks against me stop?

Why is it so hard for you to believe that I am just a regular "shmoe" who happens to like Korg products?

I have never denied that I am a member of the Irish Acts forum. As I have stated directly to you numerous times, I use my real name in any forum which I am a member. Do you think there are multiple "Martin Hines" out there? [God, let's hope not]

To help you out (given your mention of "Google"), here is the list of the forums in which I am most active. In each of these forums, you will find me listed as "MartinHines" or "Martin Hines". Enjoy!!

Please feel free to join each of the following forums, and read every single post I have ever made.

As you can see, most of my postings have been at TritonHaven (forum about the Triton series). You will notice that I am involved with three Korg keyboard-related forums. So yes, I am, as you have said in the past, a Korg "fanboy". [i am also a fan of Yamaha, Kurzweil, and GigaStudio].

Interesting that we find a cartoon offensive but are allowed to discuss "butt probe" which happens to even appear in a thread topic.

I would bet a lot of people consider "butt probe" as offensive as kiddie porn and not "family appropriate".

And yes, I know it's not that kind of "butt probe" but how many casual visitors are going to know that?

So can we say then that talking about "butt probe" is ok but not kiddie porn? I don't remember seeing that written down in any rule anywhere. Or wait, maybe we need to specify what "butt probe" someone is talking about and which usage is ok. But wouldn't that rule be offensive itself.:p

Back in the day, before college expenses, a wife, kids & a mortgage laid me low, I owned a Fender Stage 88, then an original Emulator 1 and finally a Yamaha DX7IID. None of these were cheap at the time. I have also been "exposed" to a Buchla modular, an EMS VCS3, and a SC Pro One. I also toured the Oberheim production facilities, spent some time around a Moog modular, and played my late father's Steinway B every day until just recently, when it was sold. So I know what high quality gear is. I even, gasp, actually play! :D

But it's true, I am no businessman, and yes, Sweetwater is not technically in bed with Guitar Center. Oops! My bad. But still, both establishments have a shared desire to sell you The Most Expensive Machine That Goes "Ping!". It was ever so. :)

Hey, you don't know when to quit! You called me out on that mistake, I acknowledged I was wrong, blah blah blah. So please enough with the badmouthing. You seem like a very knowledgable fellow, we should be able to get along. :)

I'm not sure where to start a dialog with him, about this belief, because if I did I might be painted as part of the conspiracy. Do you see my difficulty?

Enough already! Your only difficulty is in thinking I'm a dumb{censored}. Try treating people here with respect and you will be amazed! ;)

Well, not colluding, not in bed, just...a common intere$t in setting a new high-price $tandard for a hardware workstation. Both Sweetwater and Guitar Center want us to confuse "the best" with "the most expensive", that's all. Nothing new there.

Ha!

An argument about drug laws can be enlightening for all parties until one claims that *all* drugs should be legal (or illegal).

An argument about music/film/software piracy can be enlightening for all parties until one claims that *all* music, film, and software should be free.

An argument about politics can be enlightening for all parties until a true anarchist walks in.

An argument about the origins of life can be enlightening for all parties until someone yells "The universe is 6,000 years old because the Bible says so and you're all going to hell!"

And... An argument about censorship can be enlightening for all parties until one implies that *all* censorship is wrong.

At that point, irrational and completely unrealistic terms have entered the ring. The topic is undermined wholly, and intelligent discourse grinds to a halt.

{censored}, that must make me a corporate shill or something. Wouldn't be the first time I've been falsely accused of that in this forum.

As for Jeebus, maybe he's just like that one drunk friend at the party. Everyone tolerates him creeping out the girls... that is, until he grabs your sister's ass. At which point, beatdowns commence.

/but damn that drunk friend can be entertaining
