If you enjoy having to baby it with updates and drivers and god knows what else to get it to work at all, sure. Personally, I prefer to have a machine I can use to browse the web for an update without fear. Yes, I have both, no I can't trust a windows PC. Im pretty close to ordering my MacBook Pro. I mostly use Logic Pro and Live and those two apps will be updated pretty quickly. I guess I'll have to wait a while until all of my 3rd party plugins are updated though. But mostly I need a fast reliable laptop rig for shows, and a MacBook Pro with Live is just the ticket. Of course they aren't, but that doesn't mean you couldn't find similar amounts of equivilant issues (if not more) for Windows-based machines. Not to mention those lists would be longer simply due to people suffering from malware issues. Honestly. A lot of the items on that list aren't necessarily reliability issues either. Things like "Forgotten Password" or "What Kind of Mac Do I Have?" aren't relevant at all, and your lists are full of those. Apple laptops have lately been reportedly marginally more reliable on the hardware side than most Windows-based laptops (such as Dell, HP, Gateway). But that isn't important. Hardware does fail. Any hardware. It's hard to make a convincing argument for either side based on the current comparisons of most modern offerings. As for the operating systems (software), Linux beats them both in terms of reliability, but I've found Mac OS X tends to have an edge over Windows XP.
